snidely - thx - I bet that's why sometimes when I roll my mouse around the screen zooms in and out - I never knew why. I bet my cntrl key gets stuck at times. i know a few others do. time for a new keyboard I know. My son told me that last wk when he visited from out of state. He just shook his head at my keyboard. It's also missing a key or 2... I took some off to clean under them and lost a few... my E has the F12 'key' on it. that one had a piece break off underneath it... yeah, guess I'd better do that yet this wk before I'm caught without any keys that work. thx - I will try that (on purpose). lol!

"LOL" Cboy yep I am quick for sure. Ha! I followed your instructions and then I rebooted to make sure those icons would stay in place. Before I posted here I wanted to make sure that everything was working normal, after I rebooted walla those icons came back. "Smiles" Thank you so much for your help. This was a simple fix but I didn't know it at the time. I right clicked on the desktop to find that the backround had been changed, so I changed that but I had forgotten how to get the icons back. I still don't know how the backround got changed and my right clicking on the desktop was a stab in the dark, but when I did that I remembered to check the backround and that is when I discovered that what I was thinking was a white screen turned out to be an internet wallpaper backround. Myself I don't like that even being there, it gives you a false impression of something being wrong because it shows a white screen with gray lines. Thanks cboy for all of your help and I will post on the other thread a thank you to those who stepped in to help me. I have always trusted this forum for the wonderful help that you all provide. thirdfrt!!!

"I've had good luck with it." You do understand that there is likely aluminum oxides present on the glass? It is one of the hardest abrasives you can have, and wilt scratch the glass horribly while you try to polish it off with a very soft abrasive. One of the rules of polishing anything is to make sure ALL the previous abrasive has been removed beofre going to the next grade.

Don't depend on title insurance and adverse possession. I ran into this in Louisiana. Neighbor had placed a wood fence encroaching on my property 27 years prior to my purchase. In Louisiana adverse possession takes 30 years. The title company advised me of this fence encroachment at closing. I tore down the fence believing it was mine. Turns out in Louisiana, fencing is considered personalty and not realty. I was in the wrong. I should have sued the neighbor to remove the fence. I had to pay damages for a 27 year old rotten wood fence. Neighbor was a royal plated ass and an attorney. While I could have prevailed in court, it would have taken five years to get there and it wasn't costing this guy a dime. I settled and sold the house. Why is this important to the current situation?. Get your own real estate attorney. Don't depend on the title company lawyer. Have your own attorney advise you of your options. It will be the best money you have ever spent. It's better to get this out in the open right now while you could still walk away. Take no one's word for it. Make sure you have your own survey. Let everyone know in writing that you plan to erect a fence upon closing. Your attorney will let you know how to proceed.
