Update on my beloved DH...

Bob has been transferred from the hospital in Columbia to a Rehab Center in Hohenwald... which is a good step in the right direction. I was there when they brought him in from Columbia and then again I went yesterday after church... He insisted I go to church to pray for him before coming out. So, I did... and I will continue to "stand in the gap" for him until he is able to attend church on his own.

The dogs have been upset that Bob isn't here and I have been spending a lot of time away from the house. So... they have retaliated by tearing up bed pillows and that white stuffing is scattered from one end of the house to the other and even downstairs in the basement. The cats have taken up peeing down in Bob's man cave in the basement as well. That's not so bad though because there is a drain in the middle of the floor and I can just haul a hose in and rinse it off once I scrub it down with Lysol. It's strange how this has affected those furkids. When I am at home, they all want to pile up on top of me as if their life depended upon it.

Last night I went to church for Bible Study and Praise and Worship, and all I said was "Who wants to go................" and down the stairs the dogs bounded and to the car.... so they rode with me. Since the Rehab Center is so close, only 30 miles, I will carry them with me when I go there too... They are good to sit a couple hours in the car... I won't stay at the center for more than a couple of hours, because there are so many from church that are wanting to visit and too many would wear him plum out...

Yesterday when I visited Bob, he looked so small and so weak... and he was refusing to eat.... but then I was told he ate a good breakfast. He doesn't really eat as much in the am normaly, so I told them his normal food routine ... Toast and coffee in the am, fruit at lunch and then between 3 and 6 a good hearty dinner. Then sweet rolls and coffee in between and after supper...large bowl of ice cream before bed. I also asked them to please bring him ensure 3 or 4 times a day as well to keep his calories up.... he drops weight so easily, and it looks like he has lost a good 20 pounds since he fell last Wednesday. He REALLY starts his rehab today and they said it will be intense, but necessary to prepare him to come home.. and once he comes home, then someone will come in a couple times a week to help out for awhile... I was going to have a ramp built at the rear back deck stairs, but they said that probably would not be necessary if he just does what he is supposed to.

One thing I KNOW !! The Lord is right here with me and urging me on. I can feel His mighty presence here in our home and that is providing me with the strength I need to do all that needs doing right now.

I am not eating as good as I should though. Been eating fast foods and that isn't good... a small amount of that has so dang many calories in it... I ate a part of a sub sandwhich with a glass of milk and a small handful of chips and I gained a half pound...

So today, I am going to steam a bunch of veggies and get some chicken breats out to grill on my table top grill, and I can use that to put on salads and much healthier food. With eating that fast food, I don't care if I never eat another burger or fry ever again.. ugh.. greasy junk it is...

Our church family has really rallied and come to offer help in every way imaginabl.. from cooking and cleaning to driving me over there.... There will be a long string of visitors for him too... Our pastor is bivocational, and teaches match at the high school just down the street and will stop by every day to see him... so if they can just get Bob up and walking well and his incisions heal well without complications, he should be home in a ocuple of weeks.... I sure hope so... this house is just a house without him in it..... and I miss that old coot so much it just makes my heart hurt...
