sorta cooking---wine selection

I love deep, full bodied, flavorful reds. Love them, wish I could have that claret color on every wall in my house. Amazing. I have yet to get hubby over to where I am. He likes Riesling, which has it's place, but not at our steak dinner tonight. Recently, we were at a restaurant where a flight of reds sat in front of me, on that eternal search for him. I drank a sip. I found it! When I tasted it I said, that's not only good, it's one I'd introduce a non-red wine drinker to. It was full bodied, but was light on the tannins. He drank it and liked it! But now I can't remember for the life of me what it was.

So what are some "mellow" reds he might like?
