Nutella is WONDERFUL. We enjoy it with apples and bananas, on graham crackers, and on grilled pineapple. It is also wonderful with crepes. Seems to me I've mixed it with mascarpone cheese for a crepe filling before. I do not have any specific recipes, but Giada DeLaurentis uses it in several of her desserts, so a search on Food Network might be helpful.

giada delaurentis on foodnetwork made a crepe dessert using nutella and bananas, search foodnetwork.com for the recipe if interested. she uses nutella in several dessert recipes. my niece is allergic to peanuts so she uses nutella like peanutbutter, humm nutella cookies

I have not posted here before, but lurked for quite a while.
I was born and grew up in Germany and Nutella is to us what Peanut Butter is to Americans.
I mostly eat in on toast, but is is good with all the other things mentioned.

Make some french toast, spread some Nutella with sliced banana between two pieces of french toast and top with whip cream. That's pretty good - and decadent!

It also makes really good filling between two sugar cookies. Walmart used to have a really good almond-flavored sugar cookie. Nutella is super good as a filling for them!

When we were at the fresh markets in France there were always vendors selling freshly made crepes folded over a smear of Nutella. Heavenly to eat as you wandered about.

You can also smear a layer on your dough for cinnamon rolls. Then sprinkle on the cinnamon sugar and nuts, if desired, and roll up. I've done this before using the dark chocolate spread from World Market. A real treat for chocolate lovers!

Spread cream cheese on crackers and top with Nutella. Make ice cream with it. Frost a cake with it. Put it on waffles or pancakes and top with whipped cream.

I use Nutella as a spread topping on NY style Cheesecake...then I crush hazelnuts and crumb the side of the cake and put a huge nut in the center of the cake...We love it this way!

I put it between won ton wrappers and deep fry. Yum.

I put it in my son's lunch on top of his peanut butter--he loves it. It give him a little more calories and protein. I also have a recipe I got somewhere for Nutella brownies. You have to refrigerate for them to get hard but they are rich and delish!

Nutella Cheesecake Brownies

Ingredients for Brownie Layer:

10 tbsp butter (unsalted) melted and slightly cooled
1/4 c Nutella
2 large eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup natural cocoa powder

Ingredients for Cheesecake Layer:

8 oz cream cheese softened at room temp.
3 tbsp granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1/3 cup Nutella

Preheat oven to 325F. Line a 9x9 inch pan with parchment. To make the brownie layer combine butter, Nutella, eggs and sugar in a large bowl and mix well. Sift in flour and cocoa powder and mix until well combined. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly. Set aside while you prepare the cheesecake layer.

To make the cheesecake layer, mix the cream cheese, sugar, eggs and Nutella until well combined. Pour over your brownie batter.

Bake at 325F until the cheesecake looks set, about 40-45 minutes. Allow brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting. I cut my brownies into 36 pieces since they are quite decadent.)

Nutella bread pudding. Absolutely fabulous!

Nutella's main ingredient is sugar per the label iirc. What I find interesting is their wholesome tv commercial with soft music, beautiful mom, cherubic child being served Nutella whilst the narrator describes the cup of hazlenuts, some milk and hint of cocoa that go into making it. Never does he mention the probably 4 cups of sugar per jar LOL

I consider myself to be a very disciplined person, but not when it comes to Nutella. I'm not even a chocoholic, but there's something about the hazelnut/chocolate combo in that particular texture that makes me crazy for it.

I simply can't keep it in the pantry. If it's there I'm either eating it, or thinking about eating it. So from time to time I buy only the small jars for Sunday brunch crepes, and then give away the unused portion.

Just for the record now.. I'm not anti-Nutella LOL

So about an hour ago I was at the grocery and saw a bottle and checked out the label in order
sugar, modified palm oil, hazelnuts, skim milk powder, coacoa and some other stuff

I just thought it was a little more than deceptive their advertising making it sound like it's almost healthful HA

pkguy-I know exactly what you mean about the ingredient list. Don't get me wrong, I love Nutella, but as Cookie Monster would say, it is a "sometimes food!!" I had hoped it could be a source of healthy fat and protein (like peanut butter)...but not so much! If it was, I'm sure I would eat it daily! I was surprised to find there is hardly any protein at all...what happened to all those nuts?? :)

When I lived in France 20 years ago, the elderly lady I lived with kept a jar of it in her cupboard and ate a spoonful a day - she said it kept her iron up.

Personally, I love it out of the jar too. But I also love it on bananas, bread, and crepes.....
