my brisket is as hard as a rock after 4 hours

Its been in my Le Crueset pot in the oven at 300 for 4 hours so far. Its pretty much covered in tomato based sauce. Its freaking me out that its been so long and its still so tough.

I've cooked one once for 7 hours. Oy! Will this one ever get tender? Its for Passover and needs to be great. Its 6.5 LBS. Do the really big ones take way longer?
