Poor Phoebe has had a tough year so far. I think she's on her third nest and second clutch. She keeps getting attacked by crows or some kind of other bird. The person who owns the cam has tried a number of things to keep the attack bird out but so far nothing has worked. We'll see how this clutch will fair. Jodi-

At my local store, they had the dark red Bing and white Ranier cherries for $1.99 a pound. I got bags of both! If you want to pit them, here's an easy way: You need a plastic drinking straw, a long-neck (beer) bottle and some patience. Set the bottle in front of you, center a cherry on top, then the straw, and press down hard. The pit will be in the bottle and your cherry will be hollow.

I love visiting Leavenworth, WA. I have only been there in early June and mid September and it was really nice. I don't do snow so I appreciate your winter picture. We played golf on the Leavenworth golf course and saw the salmon spawning. It was an amazing site and a fun golf course. On our way there we stopped at the little town where they make Aplets and Cotlets. We took the tour and loved the unlimited samples.

Gorgeous picture! I have seen the Northern Lights a few times but when I was a child and I don't really remember them much.

This year appears to be pretty active in solar flares. I have a friend in Nome, AK and the recent photos she's posted of the aurora. One of her photos shows a black sky, green aurora and clear as day, the big dipper right in the middle of it all.

Have been to Alaska 4 times, and such a magnificent sight you'll never see anywhere else! It's a real show stopper when the lights appear to "dance".

If you ever get the chance to see it in person, JUST DO IT!

Come to ND! We have northern lights. I've never seen any as beautiful as the pictures from Norway, was it last week? Oh.my.gosh. Awesome!
