I'm sure you are going to see the "music garden." I saw and heard it last year. The amazing thing is that I had a camera that also did movies. You could not believe the beauty of the grasses moving in the wind with the sound of boat horns in the background (well, one time there was a police siren). I went there with the Perennial Plant Association. Some of my friends rented the headphones, but I opted to just experience the garden. I absolutely love this garden, with the movement and sound of grasses, the butterflies on the butterfly bushes, the alliums dried above the black eyed susans and russian sage. This garden had the movement and sound to be called a music garden. If you email me, I may be able to send you some of my digital movies from the music garden. I also enjoyed the botanical gardens of the Niagra area. Fortunately I was able to visit some private gardens as well. What a rich area of horticulture. I also visited Humboldt's Nurseries with their wonderful butterfly house.

We saw Viva Elvis and Jersey Boys when I went with my girlfriends a little while back. I am a HUGE Elvis fan, and girfriends werent, but they LOVED the Elvis show. Jersey Boys was very good too. I miss the old Las Vegas! My parents took us back then and so glad I knew how it use to be. Maybe I should embrace this new Las Vegas, but, when driving around there and seeing all the new places, and the old hotels not there anymore, really makes me sad! I just loved the ambiance of the old Vegas. Now, there are some wonderful places to eat now, where used to you had to seek them out. But, I loved playing Keno when getting tired of playing slots, and I think someone there said one place had Keno now, and I went there and they said they just stopped recently. Vegas just plays to a new and younger crowd now. Must me making money, or they wouldn't have done it though.

Thanks for that personal data, Deedles. I'm 65 in a few weeks. There was a real change in lifestyle in those roughly 15 yrs of our childhoods, wasn't there? My parents' house was built immediately after WWII in a new suburb of St. Paul; one grandmother lived in old 1880s house in decaying neighborhood of St. Paul and one in 1915 [new] house in town outside St. Paul. We all washed dishes but only the grandmother downtown did the scald routine. It was the rural grandma who had the big farm kitchen but the room was awful, much like the one that the kitchen planning film was trying to replace. Mostly because of lighting and lack of decorating taste. I was dating DH whose parents built a mod house by the U. of M. in 1963 with all the Midcentury Modern features that ecologists now hate. The house fascinated me. They had a skylight, a massive open fireplace, lots of glass windows, and a dishwasher! Two ovens! waterless cookware! A garbage grinder! but a dinky dining room and a one-cook kitchen. And vinyl floor even in dining area and countertops of white shiny Formica with flecks of gold. One thing that we don't see anymore and good riddance is the early plastic tablecloths that were literally tacky--they attracted things to stick to them yet the rural people loved them--cut down on laundry I suppose. We had to struggle to remove a plastic tablecloth from another family table in abt 1970 when we visited the bachelor uncle in Iowa--it adhered to the table.

I've been reading self-help, cleaning and organizing blogs and magazines for years. One thought that stood out "You can't organize clutter." The only way to deal with clutter is put things away where they belong and toss as much as possible on a regular basis.
