Well, the York finally roled over... Feedback

I have a pair of York heat pumps that are close to 15 years old and just recently one decided to move on to the recycle center. So I find myself in the position to have a new system installed. To being with I live in the middle North Carolina in a two story, single family home. The unit I'll be replacing for sure is for the downstairs which is about 1200sqft. Depending on the circumstances I may have the upstairs done as well and that is about 1100sqft. All of the heating and cooling is electric. After some research I have decided on a few minimum requirements:

1. Variable speed air handler

2. 15 - 17 Seer

3. Some type of air cleaner (other than the 1" filters)

4. Programmable thermostats

As of now I'm open to most any suggestion except York. I'm not going to say money is not a concern but I am considering all options. I have had a few Trane installers over to do estimates already. I have also lined up Carrier/Bryant and Goodman/Amana. I am still working on American Standard and possibly Rheem/Ruud. What are your recommendations or suggestions?
