I made a shrimp linguini recipe last week, and to save prep time, I bought pre shredded romano cheese. It clumped badly and stuck to the utensils I was tossing the noodles and cheese with. But it did not melt into the noodles and sauce as it should.
Does commercially shredded romano cheese have something in or on it that would prevent it from melting into the pasta properly?
Read the box or the can....that should tell you. Often containers of commercially shredded cheese contain something "to prevent clumping"...and s9ome "grated cheese products" are not all natural cheese. Linda C
