Update: Mom's surgery is today

Thank you for your good wishes last week. Well, we made it thought all the tests, bloodwork, x-rays and cardiologist. It was a heck of a week. Did the 3-hour pre-op appointment on Monday and it was a "normal" day yesterday (except for this darn cold).

Today is her surgery at 1:00 pm ET. We leave here at 10 to get to the hospital at 11. I'm hoping to speak with the doctor and a social worker about having orders for some home health care assistance. I'm also going to try to have him sign some FMLA paperwork for my job. Can't hurt right?

Mom seems more aware today of what's going on than before. I'm just trying to keep her calm. Well, I'm off to get her showered and maybe read some posts here.

I have saved all your messages on my cell phone so I'll read them again while I'm waiting for her. Thank you again.

Linda, Glad to see you posted!!!! I was going thru some of my quilt books and found one I bought when I lived in Indiana called Quilts of Indiana - Crossroads of Memories. It looks like it was put out by The Indiana Quilt Registry Project, Inc. If you want it, you can have it....or give it to your quilt guild. I'll bring it up in June.....if I can remember. Thanks everyone.Just talked to DDIL and she said he is still out and intubated but they want to keep him low key for a while.They did give him a transfusion today to give him a little boost in healing.So far so good but keep the prayers going. Maryann-Gosh,it doesn't seem possible that your twins are already 31/2! Time flies doesn't it? LOL They moved Rowdy to Lubbock yesterday for the surgery and Jillian is in Odessa.He will be staying there until he is ready to go home in about a month.They said today that Jillian will be in Odessa for at least another week.Lubbock is about 100 miles from where we live and from Odessa.Odessa is 60 miles from here.DDIL is going to ask tomorrow if they can transfer Jillian to Lubbock but I really doubt they will.

gosh this must be the day for surgery...my "bff" is on her way in, too...lets hope they both have a speedy recovery, and the dr's hands are guided by HIS....
