Let's talk about coffee grinders

If you have one, do you use it regularly?

What do you like about it?

What don't you care for?

Does it have a choice of different 'grinds? Do I want/need one that has choices?

I've decided I want to try the 'freshly ground' coffee experience with various coffee beans available in the local grocery stores.

For starters I got some 8 O'Clock Arabica Columbian whole bean to try and today tried grinding them in my Oscar Jr electric food chopper. Well, at best, the grind was course, and my first pot of coffee turned out weak.

I've read a bit about them, and it seems that most (maybe all) cannot be disassembled for cleaning. hmmm.... I guess if it was only ever used for coffee that wouldn't be a problem, but I'd think that in time oils would build up.

Suggestions?

Sue
