I don't know of a list, but you could post here and perhaps someone would send you the information. Most folks don't want to put their real information on a forum site.

Most posts have "my page" next to the names. Click on that and you can send an Email to the individual. I would not put my real name and home address and phone on a public forum.

Yes, I could post here; but I was kind of hoping to do it as a surprise. I realize people don't want their information on a forum site; that's why I thought maybe there was a list in someone's possession.

On another forum I'm a member of, the moderator keeps a list of anyone who wants to be on it. We can then ask her for a name/address if we want to send a card or little gift.

Sometimes it's nice just to let someone know you're thinking of them! :)

Some people don't list their email addresses; besides, that would defeat the "surprise". No worries, I'll find a way! :)

Some of us have quite a few addresses for other KT'ers available, you could ask me or Tami OH, for example. Or maybe Nita AZ, she probably has a lot of them. Jenni in CA, too.

For many reasons I do not thing a list should be avaiable for someone to just send anything. Some of us have been victims of some uncontrolled discussions and some have left the forum and I am sure they would NOT want any personal information released. Sorry about that. When we do a card exchange we give permission only to those who are involved, and I would never release names to anyone.

Just to avoid a heated discussion; I was not asking for anyone to sneak an address to me. Just wanted to do something kind.....annonomously. no biggie.
I just got a pretty "weird" email about this; so all I can say is "never mind"!!!

It appears that someone did get your email to send you something, and it did upset you. I am sorry about that as you appear to be someone that just wanted to send a friendly greeting. Maybe later a list could be started, after things settle down. Just a thought. Also there are several here that have serious problems that could affect their families. Guess that is why several cannot release information. Please just keep reading our daily notes and just post when you choose to.

It would have never occurred to me that getting a card or note in the mail from a fellow KT'er would be upsetting to someone who had lost a loved one or was ill or sad or depressed.

Are y'all in the witness protection program or something? :)

Thank you Flamingo!!! I was quite surprised by the response! I never wanted to break someone's confidentiality!! Was just wondering how to lift's someone's spirits!! I even got a nasty email over it! geesh....

I understand where your heart is but I would never ever share an address or other contact information of anyone without first asking permission of the party whose info I was asked for.

Recently I contacted a mutual acquaintance on FB about my best friend in junior high. She went to our friend and got permission to give me her addies and phone numbers. I appreciated that she did it like that. Showed me she had respect for her friendships with people and could be trusted to respect their privacy in all situations.

I'm sorry someone got nasty about it. That seems uncalled for.

But we all have different standards of privacy. I don't drop in on people. Many people think it's fine. Different opinions.

I don't want to be on anyone's list either. i have contact info for many here but would never share it unless they asked me to or gave permission.

When my son was killed in an automobile accident in 2006, I received a lot of sympathy cards from KT friends. I can't tell you how much those cards meant to me at the lowest point in my life. I have addresses for quite a few KTers--many of whom I have sent cards or little "gifts" to through the years. I have never had any indication that anyone was unhappy with being on my "list", and I certainly am not unhappy about being on anyone else's "list".

The people at the KT are the most caring, compassionate people I've ever met. Yes, there have been a few rotten apples through the years, but that's life. I'm sorry that juellie was made to feel bad, when she was trying to be kind. (((juellie)))

Some folks sort of like being parents ... to the whole world, as though it were mostly composed of little kids.

I've appreciated your emails, though I haven't answered every one: I assumed that you didn't expect it.

I don't mind my particulars being on a list held by a number of KT people: I'll risk having someone peel a strip off of my back, if that's what makes them happy.

That said, I agree that we do need to take some precautions to protect our identity.

Actually, I've put my phone number on some threads, from time to time, scattering the numerals around so that it would be hard for machines to collect it ... when someone was in distress and I was willing to offer them the opportunity to talk (which no one has taken me up on, to date).

That's interesting b/c I just posted on the MH about why most posters don't use their real name. I was just curious. Nita has lots of addresses and I am sure the majority of posters would be willing to have their addy released. I cannot imagine what nasty remark someone would send you, or why they would. Consider the source!

Wildchild (and everyone else)....I NEVER expected anyone to send me an address without that person's knowledge! I simply asked if there was a list that people KNOWLINGLY gave their information to. As I said, on another board we did this so we could send each other birthday, sympathy, etc. cards. This was not meant to be such a big deal; really! Let's let the thread die; I'll find another way to spread good cheer!!!

Juellie..there are a few here that love nothing better than to step up and try to rain on someone's parade, especially if they're trying to do something nice!

You'd think by now, people would accept the fact that there is NO privacy. People that you don't know, know YOU, they know your address, SS#,phone#, how many children you have ans if they're boys or girls. They know your Momma's name, they know your Daddy's name. They know your Internet provider and with a few clicks..you are no longer living the private life you thought you were!

I just thought of the fact, that my KT friends no longer have an address for me, since I moved again. If you would need it, I will share if you email me. Meanwhile, I mailed it to some "special" friends. :)
