I have two Kodaks, but need my 10x zoom, this looks to be a nice camera, Moni!

I understand Kodak is under or going into bankruptcy. You might want to check it out.

I got my Canon point & shoot FREE when I opened my bank account....2 years ago. Before that I got my Olympus free with credit card points that doubled when a gift card was requested.

Is it the price that seems attractive? Because you might want to wait for a free offer.....

I don't think it is that great of a deal, actually. Check around. It does NOT sell for their "supposed" list price. Yes, the fact that they are going into bankruptcy is a concern. I think I read that one of the reasons is that their cameras aren't very good. Their strong point was always FILM - which, of course, is seldom needed anymore.

wow the best deal may be that 4GB Class 4 SD card they have for $1.99. That is amazing but what kind of shipping costs do they have there?

That is an excellent price for that model Kodak. the Easy Share that I have is user friendly and fits in my purse.

I wanted to add that that model camera can usually be found on sale for about $ 80.00.

I have that camera. Takes nice pictures. If you have seen any of my pottery pictures they were taken with that camera.

Kodak is on the verge of bankruptcy. To stay alive, they'll probably reorganize under bankruptcy. Their stock has already fallen below $1 and the stock exchange has already given them a 90 day notice of de-listing if the stock stays below $1. The one marketable item they own is about 1100 patents pertaining to imagery, and their claim that other companues have infringed on these patents. The financial pundits are betting that Kodak does not have enough staying power to carry forth litigation to uphold their patents.

The company has let the digital world get the better of them. They were too late to embrace the technology.

The largest use of photographic film (in terms of square ft of film) is for diagnostic x-rays, and that is still true today. Kodak is a major maker of x-ray films, but there are competitors in this business, too.

Beware that if you buy a Koday digital camera, it is most likely to become an orphan. The deal has to be very good to make me go for one. Deals are available because camera supply houses are cleaning out their stock. How good do you suppose the warranty is if Kodak stops making these. If the ads say "manufacturer warranty", be cautious because this means that the seller is not standing behind the product, but passing along the manufacturer's warranty. What is your recourse if you get a bad unit and want replacement only to find the manufacturer is out-of-business for that product?

Personally, I'd shy away from mail order and would buy only if I could hold the camera in my hands and test out its features. This is not to say that all mail order purchases will be bad; its a warning should you encounter a bad unit.

Jem, I had a Kodak digital camera before. Paid about $130 for the display model.

Was a good camera. I just dropped it to often.

My cameras live in a back pocket of the jersey when I ride my bike, or are in the "trunk bag" on the rear rack of my bike. They take a lot of abuse.

However, they work great for several years. A camera at that price is sort of disposable. When it breaks, you get a new one. :)

That is what I bought it for. To replace my last 1day sale camera when it bites the dust.

No offense... thanks for looking out for me... but it is a good price for a camera you don't expect to live forever.

congrats! that was pretty fast shipping I had heard they were usually slow on shipping, but that was not bad at all.

I saw those same easy share cameras at Big Lots and they were more than that they were $70 range so it was a good buy.
