Nope. I'm not doing much, so don't need to prep ahead much.
I have tomorrow off work so I'll make bread and rolls and boil eggs for deviled.
Thaw the Pork Loin on Sat., cook on Sunday. I can make the eggs while it cooks, roast the veggies when it comes out.

I think I'm going to make Key Lime Pie for dessert...probably get that done on Sat.

Going to my cousin's for dinner, so no cleaning to be done here. (Not that there's nothing here to be cleaned, hehe.) Making a lemon meringue pie and either cheesecake or carrot cake to take.

I'm bringing covered dishes so I'm covered! I went grocery shopping today so I can avoid the crowds and just sit home and prepare my assigned dishes.

I'm in pretty good shape considering I have no heat and won't until Monday!!!

Linens are ironed, serving pieces are out and cleaned, flowers are ordered, silver is cleaned, turkey is thawing, bread for stuffing is "staleing", eggs are boiled, groceries are bought, wine is bought, Easter baskets are made for the little ones, table extensions are in.....

Tomorrow is table set up and maybe a bit of food prep. Saturday will be spent picking up fresh produce, making beans, buns, stuffing and slaw. Sunday the rest......

in good shape.....except for the furnace! LOL...and it's low 30's!

You are going all out..since it's just us 5 and our guests are a family of 6 (soon to be 7 in a few more months ~they were SHOCKED!) it's casual..the kids sit at the table and the adults sit in the living room. I don't have linens and things to do.

I'll pick up some flowers at TJ's or Costco tomorrow. Just cuz I like spring flowers and I don't have enough in the gardens yet to pick and bring in.

Cathy, what's going to be in your covered dishes?? Can't keep me hangin!

No Terri, just a regular wood burning fireplace in the living room, not at all efficient , just pretty! LOL Downstairs we have a gas fireplace with a fan that does a pretty good job so we may have to move down stairs for the duration. We'll see how it is by tomorrow.

We have great energy efficient windows and the house is very tight. Yesterday afternoon, when the furnace went "bye bye", the interior temp was 20 C now it's 18 C so we'll see....should be OK with the gas fireplace and the regular fireplace and the stoves.

We aren't going to freeze to death and it is nothing compared to what those poor folk in Ohio and Missouri are going through so you just suck it up..... if I didn't have all the food bought I'd cancel in heartbeat and head to the cottage! LOL

I'm good too. All I really have to make is the baked beans, potato salad, deviled eggs and garlic rolls. The honey baked ham is bought and my daughter is bringing dessert. MIL made the eggplant parmesan and it's in my freezer. I just need to take that out tomorrow I think so it'll be defrosted and I can bake it on Sunday.

House is all clean, just need to swiffer the floors before they all get here.

Sharon! No heat? Gosh!! Hope you stay warm.

Phew, I have a little house and I heat only with a small freestanding gas fire place. Used to be free standing woodstove that did the job to heat the house..then you had the extremes...and the first one up had to get the fire going again..LOL There used to be baseboard electric heat but they weren't safe, so we pulled them all out and gained a few inches of precious space too. LOL

Did all the major cleaning today, I'll just do a quick touch up that morning on the baths and floors. Rolls and apple pie are in the freezer, ham, polish sausage, and 9 dozen pierogi (that took all day yesterday) in the fridge. Eggs are decorated and the decorations are up. Serving dishes are out as are plates, etc. I made 5 dozen cutout cookies today and 8 dozen assorted chip cookies. Tomarrow I'll prep the fruits and vegis, make the dips, and make a cherry pie. We do our family dinner on Sat. not Sun. So on Sat I'll just have to do touch ups on the house, prep the ham, make the baked beans... most of the "cooking " at that point will just be heating things up. That way I can enjoy a glass of wine with the ladies.

Nope....behind the 8 ball here....
But my company is just my daughter and her family...
I have the lamb, and the asparagus...lemons and making for carrot cake...flour and yeast....rice and seasonings, wine...ironed linins and polished silver....and a doggie which is fluffed and puffed and has all her chickies and bunnies in her toy basket...
I need to buy salad greens, and milk....and I think all I need to do is cook..
Oh yes and run out to the dairy and buy a 2# pound wheel of blue cheese!!
