There should be a use-by date on the carton. It's similar to cow's milk, it keeps better/longer if your refrigerator is colder than 40-degrees F and you don't leave it at room temperature for extended periods of time.

Because of all the additives in commercial almond milk, it DOES last much longer than homemade almond milk (which only keeps 4 or 5 days - I've used it up to a week after making it).

If you are interested, it's much less expensive to make it yourself and you'll end up with the pulp you can use for baked goods. I use the pulp to make cereal, crackers, cake, cookies, muffins......all kinds of things. I make 1-cup of almonds into almond milk every week.

I think the "use by" date is previous to opening (for the shelf stable product, but different for their refrigerated product). After opening, (and for the refrigerated product) this is what the website for Almond Breeze says:

How soon should I use Almond Breezeî after I open it?

After opening, REFRIGERATED Almond Breeze should be used within 7 days. SHELF STABLE Almond Breeze should be used within 7-10 days of opening. Because Almond Breeze does not contain preservatives, it is susceptible to spoilage after being opened for a prolonged period of time. Do not leave opened Almond Breeze unrefrigerated for an extended period of time. Storage at room temperature will shorten the shelf life and just like regular dairy milk and will spoil if left unrefrigerated too long. Blue Diamond does not recommend trying to extend the Refrigerated âÂÂUse Byâ or Shelf Stable âÂÂBest Beforeâ time frame of Almond Breeze and Blue Diamond will not guarantee the quality of the product beyond this recommended time frame.
