Glenda, I finally made your Sour Cream Banana Loaf

Hi Glenda!

You posted a recipe for Sour Cream Banana Loaf this summer and I finally got a round to making it. It turned out so moist and yummy! My husband and son ate the majority of it and noticed that it was different from my stand-by Banana Bread recipe. Thanks for being so generous; I notice you post a lot of recipes and cooking advice. Cooking doesn't come natural to me....I can use all the help I can get. Thanks!

I have used that recipe for a long time cause it is so moist and easy to make :o)

Italy has many regions, and each one has its own style of cooking, and that's why your head is spinning. Same here, trying to teach myself how to make good barbequed ribs. As I recall, the cooked ziti are sauced, and then ricotta is folded in, and grated parmesan or romano cheese is sprinkled on top, then it is baked. You could also add cubed mozzarella with the ricotta. If you like fresh herbs, by all means, add them too. I don't see why it couldn't be layered. You'll know how you like it best after you've tried it a couple of ways. It's been probably 30 years or so since I fixed it, and my Latvian DH doesn't like it, and now it's too heavy for my old tummy. My sister fixes baked cavatelli and she calls it her signature dish. I would imagine it's made the same way as baked ziti. I prefer my cavatelli with extra virgin olive oil, minced fresh garlic, broccoli cooked al dente, and coarsly grated parmesan. Mary

Glenda, the grands made the brown bread, oh so good. They think Miss Glenda is waaay better than Betty Crocker. You have the best recipes. Thank you for always sharing. It had been a bit since I made the brown bread. Your chocolate cake is a weekly thing in our home. Also our church is starting our Wednesday night meetings. Instead of buffet, they voted to meet outside with coffee and “Miss Glenda’s Chocolate Cake”. You would think these folks know you personally. You are loved by folks that have never seen you.

this is the one I have posted lots and made lots and lots have made it as well Sour Cream Banana Bread 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup oil 2 eggs 1 cup mashed bananas (2 medium) 1/2 cup sour cream 1 teaspoon vanilla 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and flour bottom only of a 9 X 5 loaf pan. In large bowl, beat together sugar and oil. Add eggs, bananas, sour cream and vanilla, blend well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup, level off. Add flour, baking soda and salt, stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 350F for 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool completely. Makes 1 loaf.

Grease and flour bottom only of a 9 X 5 loaf pan. In large bowl, beat together sugar and oil. Add eggs, bananas, sour cream and vanilla, blend well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup, level off. Add flour, baking soda and salt, stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 350F for 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool completely. Wrap tightly and store in refrigerator. Makes 1 loaf.

Here ya go!

Sour Cream Banana Bread

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup oil

2 eggs

1 cup mashed bananas (2 medium)

1/2 cup sour cream

1 teaspoon vanilla

1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and flour bottom only of a 9 X 5 loaf pan. In large bowl, beat together sugar and oil. Add eggs, bananas, sour
cream and vanilla, blend well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup, level off. Add flour, baking soda and salt, stir just until dry
ingredients are moistened. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake at 350F for 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool completely. Makes 1 loaf.

I tried Glenda's recipe. Wonderful! Compared to the traditional banana bread loaf, it's less heavy.

I have used Glenda's recipe for this for years. Everyone loves it. I made about a dozen loaves at Christmas time and gave them away! Thanks Glenda!

Gland, we have been snowed in foe 3 days and today my gd Jenny and I made10 loaves of your banana bread to take to our neighbors! I know they will love it! We kept some for us too!

DD is on a diet and no one came to visit because of the weather.
