I love this idea-and I just had a series of these last week on vacation! Ok, here are mine:

1) On my perfect lazy Summer day, I would be on Captiva island

2) I would be sitting under an umbrella on the beach

3) Listening to the sound of the waves breaking gently on the beach in front of me

4. Seeing the glorious sea and the brilliant blue sky above
5. Wearing the only bathing suit I've bought in the past 20 years that has actually made me feel attractive in a bathing suit

6) My perfect Summer's day drink beside me would be a fruit smoothie to sip slowly

7) My ideal meal there would be the smoothie, who needs to get up to eat?!

8. I would be with my sister, who I love so much and who is a beach addict even more than I am. And who went through some very very tough times a few years ago that made me worry I would never again have her sitting in the chair next to me under her umbrella chatting and relaxing.

I would be on my cell phone talking to the landscape crew who are reviving my overgrown backyard. I hear my doggie babies and their house sitter in the background. Everything is fine.

A menu in a charming cafe restaurant.

A light jacket, there's a nip in the air.

The restaurant specialty: the Valrhona hot chocolate sounds wonderful!

Oooh, dh and I are splurging today: Mediterranean lamb chops with fresh roasted corn polenta and sorrel goat cheese salad. A delicious roasted oyster appetizer. (flown in daily from Vancouver)

What I was doing just a minute ago. Sitting on a bench under one of the Oak tree's, watching the dogs play together and watch DH water his veggie garden. Even though it's a 105 outside!

Same as you Lynn. Today I heard the Quail out and about. We get a covey of them every winter because I feed them. Love hearing that they're still around.

My perfect summer day would be much like Joshuasmah's. I'd be at the beach (no crowds), reading a book, listening to the surf. My drink would be lemonade or diet coke, and my meal would be a caesar salad with grilled chicken and french bread.

1) On my perfect lazy Summer day, I would be where: On a boat on the ocean. Perhaps Florida, so I suppose this could be a perfect lazy winter day too.

2) I would be doing what? Fishing, drinking wine, eating yummy snacks.

3) Listening to what? The water. My girlfriends chatting about everything, and nothing.

4) Seeing what? Lots of fish coming in! Maybe a dolphin.

Actually, I had that day yesterday!

The weather here was gorgeous - 80s but lower humidity than usual, blue sky, puffy clouds.

In the morning, I sat on my patio and read, listening to the birds & the cicadas.

My DH came home for lunch and we had farm stand tomato & mozzarella sandwiches with a balsamic reduction.

I went for an hour long walk after lunch.

I was drinking my favorite thing - water with fresh squeezed lime added.

I met with a personal trainer in the evening & now have some new ideas & exercises to add to my workouts.

We ended the evening at a local restaurant where we were able to sit outside. I didn't have my ideal meal but I did have a nice glass of wine to end the day.

Had one a couple years ago....;-)

Wailea beach @ FS, lounging by the pool, getting my face spritzed with Evian every hour, DW & DD in the pool, VERY comfy lounge chairs.....stunning Maui weather!

1.) my perfect summer day would be spent down the shore---but at a noncrowded beach!!

2.) i would spend the day walking by the surf, swimming and body surfing, sitting and watching the waves, and reading a good book!

3.) i would be listening to the surf and the birds... and SOME kids playing- but not too many!

4.) i would see the waves, the wispy white clouds, the ships on the horizon, and sand castles being built.

5.) i'd be wearing a bathing suit and ideally toward the evening i would need to put on a coverup because the breeze would begin to get a slight chill!

6.) ice cold water would be my drink of choice.

7.) i would love to top off the day with a great veggie calzone from a local pizzaria!

8.) i would love to have either family or a close friend or 2 with me!

Lazy:
Standing on the doggie beach,dodging other dogs, watching Cooper and Bailey splashing and racing to retrieve the tennis balls that DH hurls into the waves.
Cold diet coke from the RoFo on the way home from the park, AC on full blast to cool down, and Cooper and Baileys heads sticking out the back windows( slow speeds only).

sitting by myself on porch, book in lap momentarily forgotten, watching the trees bend in the wind,and just listening to the world. Iced tea, condensation dripping down the sides.A homemade cookie or two( or 3 who am I kiddin?)

1.) My perfect summer day would be spent in my (new to me) backyard, relaxing on my back porch. What a lovely realization it is, to know that my own backyard is now my favorite place to be!

2.) I would spend the day reading, and just "being".

3.) I would hear nothing but the neighborhood birds.

4.) I would see the plants I've put in, and the ones that came with the house--always a fun surprise, as what I thought were crocosmia turn out to be glads, etc.

5.) I'd be wearing shorts and a t-shirt, because--let's be realistic--I'm at home, and can dress sloppy if I want!

6.) Ice cold mint water, made with my own mint, would be my drink of choice. If you haven't tried it, make it today! Just put 5-10 sprigs of mint in a pitcher, add water, and mash with the handle of a wooden spoon. Let it sit for at least twenty minutes, then pour over ice. It is also fantastic in water bottles, especially when hiking.
7.) Food would be grilled veggies from the farmer's market.

8.) My companions would be my husband, and the dragonflies and hummingbirds that call my backyard home.

Lynn, I made Watermelon agua fresca today with some frozen (by me) watermelon chunks and it was a big hit. Dh loved it and wants me to put more watermelon in the freezer for when it's not in the stores. Dad really liked it too. I made it more slushy like and used Splenda.
