Prep to remove VAC and glue down hardwood

I am debating whether to float an engineered hardwood floor over VAC tile on concrete with an underlayment, or to pull up the VAC, remove most of the black adhesive by wet scrape, prime with Ardex P 82 Ultraprime, then prep the floor with Ardex K 15. This sounds like a lot more work and expense, and I'm not sure it is worth the effort in order to glue down some beautiful wood and avoid the springy floating floor issues.

I suppose another option is to pop up the loose tiles, roll on the primer and spread the Ardex K 15, then just glue it over the tiles.

Do any of you experienced flooring folks have any suggestions? I appreciate all your advice in these postings.
