that green moss can become a big problem in the long run .. it means water is not moving thru the media properly .... one way to avoid it.. is to sterilize your media.. before you use it.. REGARDLESS WHAT THE BAG TELLS YOU THE SELLER DID... see the link below ... i have done small amounts in the microwave in gal baggies... or large amounts in dollar store turkey pans covered with alum. foil ... also ... and dont get me wrong.. whatever works.. WORKS .. just giving some food for thought .... the big wads of pure peat tell me you are using a potting media.. and not a seed starting media .... its milled much finer ... and works better ... i used to get big bags of it from a local greenhouse that started their own flats.. though that type of operation is getting hard to find locally .... and i would store large amounts in a plastic garbage can for decades .... regardless... i didnt know you could get streaked hosta from an edged plant like band of gold... is this the first time.. or did you know that from prior experience ... or is that the father??? anyway.. great work .... ken Here is a link that might be useful: link

"Here we are! . . . springing forth, freshly anew!" This really reminds me: I need to get some peony rings before those plants get out of hand! . . . again. My "babies" are mostly big bruisers these days! Actually, they are seriously stretching for more sunlight. At least, the tomatoes are. I have to start potting-up my 2nd planting to larger/deeper containers immediately. I'm not delighted to do that but they've had no opportunity to get unfiltered light, what little sunlight they get. Chisue, they live four miles away. BUT.....plans are underway for them to put a two-story modular house on the property they own, which is very close to me. They'll be my nearest neighbor! I probably won't see their house from mine, but I'll be able to see their lights at night. I like that idea. :-) Thank you, everyone!!

Oh, as for the job, I certainly am quite tired when I get home at night, and when I wake up in the morning! But I do quite enjoy it so far. Going to a conference tomorrow about local educational research. Mr. Robo Has been finding the transition challenging. It doesn’t help that Em started teething shortly after he took over.
