White Rice vs. Brown Rice

I have been copying and pasting tons of recipes off all the cooking forums here.... but the majority of the recipes (that have rice) call for white rice.

While I prefer white rice... I try to be as healthy as possible and we use brown rice. On many of the (oven baked) casserole type dishes that use "raw" rice, they call for white rice. I know that it takes longer for brown rice to cook... so how do I make the substitution? I know that if I increase the cooking time for the rice... the meat will be WAY overcooked.

How do you make the substitution, or should I just purchase white rice to use in these type recipes?
