It's not necessarily that I do or do not like it, I'm actually fairly certain it would make some fantastic jam, I'm just unsure of whether or not a) this is normal (for it to be green and still somehow ripe?), and b) is it edible? (as in, no adverse health benefits, right?). I would hate to compost/trash all of this fruit if it's perfectly edible, kwim?

I have no advice for what your plumeria is experiencing since I'm a newbie but I can recommend these following nurserys: Maui Plumeria Gardens -- Doug sends wonderful green fat plump healthy cuttings that arrive at your door within 2 business days. He also sends you a mystery cutting. With my last order, I got 2 free mystery cuttings, which both are doing splendid -- actually one has 3 to 3 1/2 sized leaves on it. My Maui beauty that I got from him has about 3 inch leaf plus an inflo forming. I've just recently bought from Florida Nursery colors -- the two cuttings that I received was rather slender but looks good. Plus I found that they are very nice people. If they don't have a cutting that you want, they will let you pick a replacement. I've corresponded with them with over several emails while Carol patiently awaited my decision. Also I purchased from Upland Nursery -- some cuttings can be a bit pricey there but the two that I received were nice fat plump cuttings which I can't wait for them to grow leaves and eventually bloom.

Hey Sue. About the libel issue. I'm with you 1,000%. Even when you're in the right, it's still a PITA to deal with someone that got their panties in a wad and head to their BIL or SIL that is an attorney to shake you down. I know, because a dozen years ago or so, I pushed for our HOA meetings to be held in a public place because the Board members refused to let the community attend. They said we weren't allowed. I might have been younger, but didn't fall off the turnip truck, so I got the management company to force them to comply with the HOA docs. Bottom-line, I questioned them about their budget. It didn't take a college graduate to do simple arithmetic. Almost $100,000 was not accounted for in the budget and there was a very nervous rep from the management company sweating bullets when the Board Members spoke. It was a nasty wrangling with lawyers, but the truth did win at the end of that year. It cost me money though. AND a lot of time. OH...what happened? When I questioned the budget monies, when they had said every penny was accounted for, I proved them wrong with their own numbers at the yearly HOA meeting. Then, they resigned on the spot slapping me, my husband, and two other people with libel suits for questioning their integrity. I personally audited the books and found that they had spent HOA money to improve THEIR properties, planting trees, sprinkler system, shrubbery, etc...in this townhome community in the DC area; AND they were having THEIR maintenance up-keep paid for out of community funds. When they slapped us with a libel suit, we slapped them with a lawsuit. It wasn't pretty. When it did end, it ended miraculous and unbelievable. Through it all, two of the meanest became Believers. It was really something to see them 'handle' those that were so manipulative. The mean ones began to support us and defend. There's SO much to the story, but really, I feel I could write a book called "The H.O.A." and it be a GREAT movie. AND "The Cabinet Maker". I just can't think of any weasle actor to play CabFiascoGuy. Have a good evening.

Since you have some doubts, it might be an idea to meet her so you can better ascertain whether your feelings are valid or completely off base. Maybe the next time you notice her stop when your hubby's outside, grab a glass of ice water or something to bring to him. When you walk outside, acknowledge her presence with a smile and enthusiastically say "Oh Hi. I'm outside a lot so I've seen you in the neighborhood, but we've never really met. I've noticed you out front occasionally when my hubby's been outside, but I'm afraid it would take HIM forever to notice, so I'm glad I caught the opportunity to make the introductions myself. I'm Mary." (Call out "Honey, can you step out of the garage for a second to meet our neighbor?") I think this is a polite and friendly greeting, but it sends a few messages: #1 - you're letting her know you've been outside on numerous occasions, but she only seems to stop out front when it's hubby who's outside. #2 - you're letting her know that hubby hasn't noticed her before and probably never would. The circumstances could be purely coincidental. But an introduction to both of you will show whether in the future she ever stops to chat when she sees you outside, or only if she sees your hubby. If that is the case, I'd let him know you're uncomfortable with the idea that she only seems interested in getting to know him better...and it would make you happy if he limits their encounters to a friendly greeting. After all, most well intentioned people would never think of striking up a friendship with the opposite sex spouse, while ignoring their mate.
