It's not necessarily that I do or do not like it, I'm actually fairly certain it would make some fantastic jam, I'm just unsure of whether or not a) this is normal (for it to be green and still somehow ripe?), and b) is it edible? (as in, no adverse health benefits, right?). I would hate to compost/trash all of this fruit if it's perfectly edible, kwim?

I grew those in 2014, having gotten them from Sustainable Mountain directly, and they look just like yours and match your description. (I'd add a photo, but they're turning out all giant for some reason, so I'll have to try again later). Started out all green, then got some red streaks, then turned yellow with red streaks. I think your issue with them as snaps might be first that most greasy beans are on the small side, and second that they're an Appalachian-style snap bean / "full bean," meant to be eaten when all lumpy with big seeds inside. You string them and then cook them up like you would a shelly or dry bean, but pods and seeds and all. I usually do them in the pressure cooker. Or you can just treat them as shellies; many of the Appalachian types seems to be excellent shellies (Rose, for one).

Awwwww, Jeff. So sorry you have too many violets,,,,BUT anytime you don't want them,,,,,,well just ask, and I bet I can find someone who does! On the other hand, maybe the poor little things needed a home, or maybe the packer was told "just get rid of the rest of those" or something and YOU were the lucky person! Thank you both for your quick responses. Here are few more photos and a quick update. Loba was the sealing product used, I took a picture when they came back to re-coat. (Side note, I highly recommend that you take pictures often during a remodel including all the products they are using) For the stain the flooring company just sent me information that Dura Seal Quick Coat was used. However during the original refinishing, the start date for the project was Sept. 18,2018, stained Sept. 30, 2018, while I was on site I saw cans of Minwax. They may use both not sure. Anyway we did not put furniture on the floors for nearly 2 weeks, and for my daughters bed seen in the pic with a white furniture leg and floor peeling next to it, probably closer to 3 weeks. After the floors were completed we had 5 1/4 inch baseboards installed upstairs and downstairs, in addition to having the whole house painted. So we were out of the residence for sometime. I didn't notice an issue with pealing until Oct 27, 2018 (again glad I took pics) which was downstairs near the kitchen and a high traffic area. Now I have my detective hat on. Last week I reached out the a local distributor of Loba products told him the story and he says the only way to correct the problem it to completely redo the floors, as you recommended too. They need to be sanded all the way down to remove the stain and start over. He also recommended that I contact Loba, which just happens to have their major distribution center near where I live. So I called and spoke with a Technical and Production Manger. He was kind of enough to stop by my house, on his way home, and assess the situation. Again the recommended solution is to completely redo the floors. I will say that everyone I have spoken with, told them who my contractor was had nothing but glowing reports for them and their reputation. The Loba Manager even said that the sanding job was impeccable and the stain, although it is failing, looked fantastic. He said the flooring company may have done this combo a 1000 times and never ever had a problem it's just our job they got bit on. So this week we will meet with the flooring company see what happens. I will definitely use your list above to confirm what they did and to know exactly what will be completed for the fix.
