catman, there have been a few folks who have said the same as you as to more folks here than in the exchange, but I don't know how one knows that b'c we're all pretty anonymous here as opposed to many other message sites where if someone is online at the site their name appears at the bottom of the opening page. LOL I see you joined here in 2008 and by that time I think the tomato exchange, photo gallery and Pest and disease Forums associated with this one were in place. There was a need to do that b'c again, this general tomato forum was being overwhelmed. Just a bit of history. Shortly before I came here there was no Tomato Forum, they were discussed in the Vegetable Forum, but there were so many tomato threads there that Spike opened this one just for tomatoes. I can't and wouldn't tell you what to do about double posting here and in the exchange, that's something you have to decide for yourself, I suppose based on some of what I've shared with you in my post above and this one. Plllog. . .I think you hit the nail on the head--while it is a pretty color, it wasn't what I had in mind and I really don't like it. . .just needed some confirming opinions. My first thought when I saw it was it wasn't the right color. . .but, it matches the 8 x 8 paper swatch and the dab on the can. . .I'm wondering if it's the red in the floors that are making it funky? I may try play around with the glaze. Amberley, love your your sideboard--it's absolutely beautiful!! I'm thinking something with the Rosemary Sprig or a creamy,taupey tan (is there such a thing?). I think maybe I'll also look at some soft yellows. Thanks for the compliments on the cabs. I really love the oven cab too and think the desk area will be equally pretty once I can get the wall color right. I'm really proud of the hardware. . .it's the original antique brass hardware that I cleaned and painted copper/ORB. Thanks again everyone for all your input. I'm going to try and get my dishes, et cet put away this weekend and then get back to work on the color next week.

Beth, I have been so delighted and educated with all these posts. I love the evolution of your wonderfully charming home! You are an amazing woman! I share several of the decorating dilemmas you've mentioned. My "living room" is about 2' more narrow and 2' shorter than your area. I'm learning a lot from your post. The repurposed gun cabinet idea is absolute genius. Please share a photo when you've installed the shelves and contents. Regarding the non-glare glass for your larger artwork. The price of non-glare glass has become simply ridiculous. I have an entire hallway lined with (Gasp!) a family gallery wall. It includes photos from more than 100 years ago to this year's school pics of the great-nephew. Color, colorized, sepia toned, black and white, all mixed together and mostly in their original mismatched frames. That just about breaks all the rules, but I love my wall. Several of the older photos - Mom's 1954 graduation photo; MIL's 1952 wedding photo, etc. - had plain glass. I can't tolerate the glare either. I made a note in my iPod of all the frame sizes that needed replacement non-glare glass. Every time I'm at a thrift shop or yard sale I check out the "frames" area. You can often find large pictures that may be in horrid frames, but they will have non-glare glass! I buy the frame, take out the glass, and toss the rest. I found one very large print of ballet slippers framed with non-glare that was big enough to cut down into several pieces. It made one 8x10 and three 5x7 pieces of non-glare glass for my wall, all for $1. With their permission, I took the glass out at the shop, tossed the faded print, and re-donated the empty frame back to them.

Sue, the Etap hotel is a few steps below a motel 6...quite a few steps in fact. LOL! The rooms were tiny, which were expected but the floor was really grungy and the toilet/shower area were a one piece porta potty plastic unit that had been put into a corner of the room. It was very small and the floor area by the toilet got soaked when you showered. The shower stall area was barely big enough to turn around in. Now I wish I had taken a picture! Patti, I think the house I used to live in was torn down and a new one put in it's place, there were a lot of new homes there. The town was very small, just one street with one tiny restaurant and a coffin maker. That was it...not even a post office. Stacy, yeah, I think I should've learned after our trip out west. Some of it was fun but for the most part they weren't interested in a lot of it. I've downloaded my pictures and will start posting them. Wish I had taken more videos, they are pretty funny because they are so BAD! LOL!
