Here are some settings to check to be sure the comp is set up for your monitor: Rt click desktop, then properties, then settings tab (be sure the screen resolution is set to your monitor's native resolution, found in the literature which came with it), color should be set to highest 32 bit, then click the advanced button at the bottom, click on the monitor tab (be sure you monitor is listed correctly), then click the properties button and make sure your video card is listed properly. If all is well, then you know it's not the hardware settings. If something is wrong and you can't fix it, let us know and we can help some more.

Well - I restarted the computer - which enabled me to move the cursor over the task bar until I got a double arrow - then drag it down - and eliminate the second, lower task bar. Now I have a single task bar again - but most of my quick launch items are not there. The start menu and open windows are on the left. Time, print icon, volume icon, secunia icon (which now won't work for me - interminably keeps trying to load) and windows update icon are there. There is no left arrow As for fonts, I can't get them restored in my inbox. I tried changing the font style in firefox options - but nothing changed. Except now - just today - all the computer forum is in a new font and is bold (way too large and bold) - all other web pages are unchanged. Is that just a coincidence that the colors and fonts and boldness here have changed? I will try a system restore later - since several things seem out of whack. I did search the firefox forums - and many people reported this inbox font change since March. No real fixes - a few complicated sounding work-arounds. Doesn't sound like anyone there was happy with the suggested workarounds. Thanks. Lynn.

The link I gave you was to a rating site independent of Dafont, and if you look around that site you will find bad reviews posted for other web sites and businesses, so I wouldn't be concerned that someone is manipulating the ratings. Besides, all you have to do is Google "Dafont ratings" and you'll find additional positive ratings, like those on the respected site WOT in the link below, where Dafont has 56 ratings and all but a couple are "I trust," and where other users appear to disagree with whoever left the unfavorable ratings. It's up to you whether you want to use them, but, if you want free fonts from any source, at some point you are going to have to trust somebody. If a site has positive reviews from many sources and no bad reports, that generally satisfies me that they are reliable. When I Googled "Dafont scam" I didn't get any hits that caused me to be concerned. In fact what came up first was a link to another site I trust that had a list of free font sites that weren't scams, including Dafont. With anything I download from a web site, I save it to my desktop and do a virus scan before I use or install it. If you continue to be concerned, maybe you should just buy some font software at a computer store so you don't have to worry about whether you can trust a free or even a pay site. Here is a link that might be useful: WOT: Dafont

there is 3 ways to do what you want. Dhtml, Java scripts, and plain old gif animations. See some text animation DHTML here. Dynamic Drive Java Scripts you can look at here. A1 Java scripts As for gif animations, the problem with them is the large file sizes. They can be made with programs like Paint Shop Pro's Animation Shop, but it will take a while to do this as each movement of the text you will have to change the picture and save each change as a new copy of the text picture. Then you use animation Shop to make the ani. Hope this helps JamesS
