I'm at the start of the cul de sac so the snow plow slows down right as he is going into the turn and slowing rides the curve meanwhile a 100 lbs of rock salt is being spun all over the place. Its not a big deal when we have small amounts of snowfall but when its 3" or more its game over. I have nowhere to go with the 10" of snow if left in front of my driveway except for this area around the to be pine. I would actually go with Bosnian or Japanese Black pines but their hardiness is questionable around here. I might just end up with the P. reflexa. I thought I recall Resin stating that this pine was the most drought tolerant of the white pines. Dax, good point. I forget that sometimes. What is 'Vanderwolf's Pyramid' likely grafted to?

Bob. I guess I wasn't clear enough. IF I use 'text boxes' everything flows perfectly (although I am not an expert on linking either and have had some problems figguring out the rules for getting each box linked to its predessor). But that is not my question. I was hoping to learn how to easily (rapidly?) create multiple, equal 'text boxes' to allow this flow. OR how to get regular columns, even on the first page to behave something like 'text boxes'. On the second and following pages, they do infact respond that way, with text flowing naturally from column to column. But on the first page which does have some carridge returns to keep banners and icons in place (and could indeed induce strange text effects as you suggest, although I don't think that is actually what is happening) the two column formatting from the second page will incroach into the bottom of the first page; or the outlined box on the first page moves down to the second page. In other words, some of the formatting on each page moves up or down as text is added or removed.

aekekk - Would hate to have one of those little devils get stuck! I found some nice decorate metal grate at Rockler that will look really nice. marti8a - Thanks. I am actually having a really good time with the tiles and am thrilled with how they have come out. We are starting the next phase and hopefully it will not be long and they will be up on the wall. go_figure01 - Our kitchen is around 20'x23'. We are taking our old kitchen/breakfast area and making it one big kitchen. The island is 6'x10'. The island is about where the old peninsula was, the fridge will stay in the same place, the stove will be where the old cooktop was. The two tall cabinets on the right side of the sketch are the 6' of pantry :) The bottom picture is one of the two slabs used to make our island and sink. We are doing this all in phases so we will have a working kitchen during the remodel. We both work full time, we are doing all the work ourselves, including building all the cabinets. I will post more pictures as we go along. I decided that some stained glass panels would look nice in the top part of the pantry and in the cabinets by the refrig. So then I decided that since I have a kiln why not do a combo of fused and stained glass. I have no idea what I am doing, but I am looking forward to the fun of learning how!

I also posted my question about my Dyson on the Cleaning Tips forum and thought I would share their responses. Apparently, the Dyson was not a good choice for my friese carpet (or any longer length carpet) because it does not have a height adjustor for the roller brush. It does self-adjust, but it does not adjust as high as it should for longer carpet fibers. That would explain why it is very hard to push on my friese but not on the shorter carpet in our bedrooms. Having the roller brush at a lower height also decreases the effectiveness of the vacuum on longer length carpet, because the roller brush cannot fully move the carpet fibers around to release the dirt between them. Also, the Dyson roller brush can be too aggressive for area rugs - but this can be solved by using the rug/floor attachment. It was suggested that Simplicity, Riccar, Miele, or Sebo vacuums might be a better choice for my floors. Hope this info. might help others choose their vacuum.
