I have bought quite a few things from Ylighting (same company as Yliving). Always a good experience, and in one instance when there was a problem with the product it was handled very well.

Hope you got it, did't read all comments (37) here but that chair is a definite go. It was designed c. 1958 and that it's very still popular, should say a lot. In Design Within Reach lists for around $2450 last I saw that may say something too. Plus it should last forever. And be out-of-this-world comfortable from the start. He - its designer, Charles Eames, along with designer wife Ray to be fair, pioneered ergonomics. Notice the black and aluminums airport chairs you've seen all your life; same mfr, same designer. they.hold up If you get a knock off, make sure it's exact, not just the concept but in welded steel and polyester The steel welds can break and will render a bulky foot piece in any case, it's tat elegant star base that carries a lot of the visual appeal and always will. And poly can make you sweat.

I purchased two Eames kounge chairs with ottomans in January, 2019 from Modteriors They arribed within a couple of weeks. My husband and a friend who have assembled a multitude of "put it together furniture" spent several hours on one chair but were unable to put the arms together. The drilled holes just didn't match up. They did get it put togther enough for us to realize that the chair just simply wasn't a good fit for us. Too low to the ground and difficult to get in and out of. Since we had opened all the boxes (mistake), we had to repackage them in order to ship they back. We made every effort to make sure each piece was protected by foam, etc. The cost to ship back by FEDEX was o ver $400. Modteriors informed us that the shipment was damaged and nothing was salvageable and we would have to file a claim with FEDEX. They sent us pictures of the punctured boxes and a few photos of damage inside. You guessed it. FEDEX denied our claim because we did not pack it exactly as we had received it. Cost of this little mistake was over $2500. Were any of the items salvageable? Who knows. Modterior is in New York and we live in California. Was the upgraded leather ripped to shreds and totally ruined. I think not. A hard lesson to learn. In retrospect I would have tried to put them together or tried to sell them at a discounted price to recover some of my money. Modterior was very polite and responsive to my questions, etc. Having said that, I would never buy anything from them again.

@ana Thanks! The prices that DWR sells most of their pieces for are set by the manufacturer, not DWR. The eames bird is not made by dwr. They sell it for vitra. You will pay the same price for the eames bird from any dealer. Right now there is a 15% sale on knoll pieces. This sale is put on by knoll. I can order a knoll tulip chair from knoll, dwr or any other knoll carrier. All will charge the same price, plus 15% off. The difference is that if I buy from dwr, I have to pay sales tax, since they are in my town. However, I have purchased quite a few floor samples from DWR, which are usually a good deal. Anyway, I feel that dwr carries high quality brands for the most part. Pieces from Knoll and Herman Miller from 50 years ago are still being bought and sold at high prices, which I think speaks to the high quality of these items. :)
