Rusty, I wanted to make the wild rice special. otherwise it will always be just a side. The recipes is very simple, not to take away the subtle nutty taste of wild rice. It is just wild rice with chestnuts cooked in concentrated beef mushroom stock. Wild rice is not sticky. I added tapioca flour as a binder. After that I rolled the rice into balls and froze them in the freezer. The frozen rice balls is very easy to coat with a simple egg batter and deep fried. It was very interesting to bite into a crispy ball with wild rice in it. I am working on a different batter to make it even more interesting. dcarch

My oncologist down here can't do the shots because I believe that the scca will be starting them on a Saturday, possibly a friday,(my doc isn't open on weekends) on the following Monday, they will have to put in a mehurker (sp) line in the left side of my neck, as my power port doesn't allow enough volume to pass. The doctors up there all want the procedures, Petscans, etc done up there with their techs and labs. Tomorrow, my last appointment ends at 5pm. I think I will spend the night at my brother's home, which is 45 minutes closer than mine. I have to be back at the scca at 645am on Thursday for the petscan. I do need to run home after the PET scan and try to get some of my work done. My boss just can't physically do her accounts AND mine. Then back up to the U of W med. on Friday morning to have an ultra sound, and another procedure on my heart, back to the scca to their dental clinic. I'm getting tired, LOL And I feel pretty good! I feel for Bulldinkie and all the tests she had to complete when she was feeling so lousy! We haven't seen any postings from her, I wonder how she is doing? thanks again MJ.. I don't like taking pills, I didn't take anything for the biopsy... but they tell me I will need something for the growth factor. But every body is different! MEOW ! hahahahahaha

They have some nice things Having said that-I'm not going to buy from them, I stopped looking at these long time ago, and the last idiotic interface change made me mad enough to delete the whatever ideas/images of their products I had, just because. As for money initiative-nothing new here..many sites do that. Even on Quora which is ask-answer community, no material goods provided, just opinions and information, I was very surprized at the sheer amount of idiotic questions, until I got a " special private invitation" from the website-I post questions ( need to compy with rules such and such), after certain amount of good questions (the ones that generate more responses) they promise me starting making money. Start with 5-10 bucks per month.. then I guess if one becomes masterful at posing questions s/he gets more money. So the amount of idiotic questions got at least partially explained..

Boo, it was approximately the same here, in the 90s and no rain for a month, it was terrible, I only got about half the hay I usually get because I can sprinkle the garden but have no way to water hay or pasture. (sigh) So, an extra beef will go into the kids' freezers this year, I won't have enough hay to feed them through the winter if I keep all the breeding stock I want to keep. Ah well, it's how farming goes... Anyway, there are few peaches here for sale either, they are all coming from "down south" and they aren't wonderful by the time they get here in Northern Michigan! I would like to get enough to make a batch of Doris' "Peach Jam for Cold Mornings", though. Annie
