Perfect, absolutely perfect... Jane, yes...that's the house and thankyou so much for the pictures of it..it's one of the chosen places I really want to see in person, if the day comes I jump aboard the clipper.. Kathy and Kathy....both are excellent... if I wasn't so adamant about gardening, with actual dirt and plants, I would love to fill my yard with this same kind of yard art but that never was the goal of what's transpired with my battle with the gestapo guy... I always had tripling up the garden space, with whimsical things added all around..but it's been an uphill fight, for months with the next door neighbors and for the life of me, I don't know why they don't just get a life and leave me alone.. before they had the fence built, I could understand them not liking the pile of junk I had on the side of the house..that was acceptable..I mean acceptable that they didn't like it all.. but after the fence was built, they just didn't let up. the day the survey was finished and I had a copy of it all in my possession, I was like given a second chance at life itself.. you know when you're in a restaurant and by chance you end up at a table, where the noisiest people in the world seem to gather..not just a couple but an entire extended family and they talk a mile a minute, top of their lungs and you wonder if they will EVER shut up or EVER leave... then, they finally finish and leave the place.. you sit back and are so tired from them all, that you just sigh a sigh of relief... or if you're out camping..in the quiet, in the woods..and some idiot cranks up the car radio, or battery operated radio, with music you detest....and they have a 'good ol' boy' party, bbq... drinking...then arguing, then either the cops are called or they finally pass out, till morning, when they start it all over again.....finally, camping is over and you go home, exhausted.... well, having the survey papers confirming my thoughts that the fence was on my side of the property.... that was the same kind of 'silver lining' in the clouds that came over me.. I could think straight, I could sleep at night, I could feel comfortable in knowing my boundries, both realistically and figuratively.. it was awesome... now, since we've gotten rid of what I believe were the points of concern...solid waste..(appliances that showed, since the carport fell down from snow) and the bags of coffee grounds and other misc...I don't think there's any reason for me to concentrate on anything other than my gardening in potted plants and raised beds, with the other garden junk art that I had planned. if he has a problem with any more, I will take it up with the county and file harassment charges. it's just gotta stop somewhere. and....I will have more than one person here, in my defense, to walk around, while 'gestapo guy' does the same. I have 30 different emails I've sent to myself, from google, emails and posted pictures on here and other albums some of you have in your own folders... there must be no less than at least a hundred photos... all of them too cool to single any out.. thankyou to any and all of you, who have contributed to this cause..I appreciate it so much. and sure wish you could all converge in my yard, the day he shows up...lol sincerely, Becky .(*_*).

Actually, the problem does not seem to be a common one. For instance, the collection of hundreds of complaints about KA fridges at consumeraffairs.com does not have any about stinking fridges. (If hundreds seems like a lot, check out some of the others, such as Samsung, where there may be four times the number). That does not mean there are no stench problems with KA Architect fridges, only that they are infrequent in relation to how many fridges are made under osld under the KA brand. No comfort if you have the uncommon problem, of course, but it does suggest that there is not a great likelihood of your getting it. Problems with bad odors is hardly confined to products within the Whirlpool corporate family (which includes KA and its Architect line.) An internet search on any brand will show some angry reports about stench from some owners of virtually every brand of refrigerator sold in North America including those sold by SubZero and Liebherr. Many of the postings are from folks who feel frustrated and blame the maker, whence comes talk about class action lawsuits, BBB, seeking CPSC recalls, etc. In any given case, the problem may or may not be a manufacturing or design failure. (Of course, for some people, manufacturers are supposed to anticipate everything and so any problem is, by definition, a manufacturing defect.) Are there more complaints about KAs than SubZeros? Sure. KitchenAids are sold in much larger numbers to a mass market. SubZero sells far fewer fridges into a much smaller niche market. I haven't found any real data that tells whether SubZero has proportionally more or fewer problems than KA/WP. (For a while, SZ did have a lot of problems and Consumer Reports had enough data to warn about them in both reliability surveys and product testing. Lately, however, Sub Zero has come up quite a bit in the product testing ratings while the annual reliability surveys have not turned up enough responses for CR to publish results for any built-in fridges.) Often, from reading the complaints, there seems to be a bigger problem than the stench --- the insulting and inadequate warranty service, often farmed out to uncaring low-bid contractors. So, is the lesson here that you need to find some unknown brand about which nobody ever publishes serious complaints? (Well, maybe Sunfrost, but that is a pretty specialized market.) Or, is the lesson that you should never, ever buy anything labeled as a Kitchenaid? Actually, the lesson is to check out who does the warranty service in your area for particular brands. Many people have mentioned the "expense" of putting flooring under the cabinets, but the actual financials are usually a wash. It will be more expensive material wise to put the flooring under the cabinets, but it will be a much easier flooring install. It'll be more expensive labor wise to have your flooring person cut plywood to put down under the cabinets and then do even more cutting and fitting to get the wood to go around that plywood. In the end, labor usually being more expensive than the product, it usually makes more sense to just put the wood over the whole floor and then install the cabs and appliances. If the wood ever needs to be changed out, it's no big deal to cut it out right at the toekick line and install different flooring. The big risk in wood flooring in a kitchen is the inevitable moisture damage. Yes, "traditional" homes used to have wooden floors in kitchens, but there was no subfloor. The wood was laid directly on the joists, and anyone who has ever lived in an older home knows that the expansion/contraction of that wood over the years left gaps between the planks that modern homeowners would throw their hands up in horror over having. :) Well,those gaps and no subfloor let any water problems drain right out of that wood floored kitchen with only minimal damage to the floor. The water didn't stand on it for hours. Today's modern building methods have a subfloor that will trap the moisture, or a cement slab that will trap moisture when you have that refrigerator water line leak. So, getting moisture alarms shouldn't be optional if you want a wood floor in a modern kitchen. It will help to alert you to when you have a problem. And, it is when, not if! It's a wet workroom after all!

We are doing it because we are putting down a cork floor. Don't want the appliances to sink. It's the same thickness as the floor, and we will put a little flooring in the very front. We are doing this for the 48" fridge and the 36" range. We painted the plywood with primer.
