Pucker Up, David!

I don't know how I can be so lucky, but I got a package on Saturday, completely unexpected. IT was from David/Lakeguy, and so I was really excited. I opened the box and here's what was inside:

Yes, it's a precious quart of Sharon/Chase's dills, straight from Oklahoma to me. Elery couldn't wait to taste them, I managed to get a picture of this much of one:

Elery says they are perfect pickles, sour and vinegary, very garlicky with just the right amount of dill. He loved them and I think there's one left, LOL.

Thank you, David, my friend, you are a sweetheart indeed and I'd love you even if we hadn't spent that time in the backseat of Roger's car. Of course, you knew that. I don't know what I've done to deserve you, but I'm sure happy to know you. With or without pickles.

I'm sure glad to have gotten the pickles, though. (grin) They are delicious!

Awww! Annie your thoughts are exactly how I think of our "big guy"! David, so sweet of you to send those precious...and I mean precious dills to our friend Annie!

OK, now it gets interesting. DAvid says he didn't send them, he thinks they are from Chase/Sharon. But I got an email from Sharon a couple of days ago that said she was in Buffalo and was sending them with a Buffalo address.

So, Sharon's dills are at my house, via Buffalo with an Oklahoma address? (grin) Yup, just like my life, round and round in circles.....

Seil, the interior pruning on Carding Mill is still evident. They removed a number of canes from the middle of the plant. What is left is a beautiful shape with a clear interior. I have seen a video from The San Jose Municipal Rose Garden on pruning. And the woman who did the pruning shows how to prune to keep the interior clear of too many canes. She also shows how to prune the bush to make it shaped, as she called it, like a vase. My CM is free of interior 'clutter' and is shaped beautifully. The other two English types are (or were) quite tangled. The David Austin directly from David Austin, as you said, is much better cared for. Thanks for your input, andrea

Then I giggled like a little hooligan who thought she was getting away with something. You don't own any kitties, do you Doris? There might be a cat butt gum coming to a mailbox near you. ;-) Msafirstein, I can tell you a bit about the book. As you've probably noticed, these swaps sometimes get a little out of control. Translation: I bought the same book for me too. This book contains information about Lemons, starting with their history and recipes (There's a Meyer Lemon marmalade recipe in this book that I - a member of the non-canning brigade - would love to make). Followed by crafts, how to grow lemons, as well as, its more practical, household uses. This little book contains a lot of pictures too. Thank you Diana and Annie Banani! No those are from me!

I was in Buffalo and mailed them from there because it was so much cheaper than mailing from Canada but I couldn't use a Canadian return address so I thought Clive used Alexa's for yours but he must have used David's.

LOL.. this is just so cute! Love it! Cooking Forum drama and intrigue. Who knew one jar of pickles could have such a mystery. Sharon, you're such a good egg. Bet Clive gets a chuckle out of this too. Love the bitten picture too. That jar just makes me want to drink pickle juice, and with all that garlic, yummm.

Sharon, I should have known they were from you, but I was waiting for a box with Alexa's address on it, so I was confused. I guess it's easy to confuse me.

At any rate, the pickles are already gone and they were delicious!

coconut, I'm lucky I got elery to put that bitten pickles down long enough to take a picturre of it!

Thank you, Sharon, they're delicious. Thank Clive too, for making me stop and think for a minute. Or longer! Hey, remember, you're talking to the woman who was waiting on the wrong train platform in Toronto, so the wrong address on the box is nothing!

I'll pucker up but you STILL owe me a topless ride in that jeep my friend. LOLOLOL. Himself had a good time with those return addys didn't he. Woodie, very tangled indeed....that's what I love about this place... and all y'all!!
