Need help with subfloor unevenness for prefinished hardwood floor

Hi,

Should we sand down the particle board?

A hardwood flooring novice here: would really appreciate your help/thoughts on my flooring problem.

So weÂve taken out the carpet, pads, and particle board from the 2 bedrooms and hallway.

The particle board ran under walls, etc. So to remove them, we had to cut it at about 1.5inches from the wall (as close as we could get with a circular saw).

WeÂve installed the plywood.

The particle board is 5/8". The plywood is 19/32". So there is a gap of 1/32" between the height of the plywood and the particle board all around the room.

Should we sand down the particle board?

Is there another way to handle this?

The (pink) rosin paper is not very thick. Would it work to double up on the rosin paper to make up the 1/32" height difference?

Really appreciate your help.

Thank you,

Amanda
