Is Omnia Leather Sofa good quality?
Comments (12)I was in the market for leather furniture that had larger than average seat height and depth; I'm 6'. After several visits to the store and research, I decided on the Omnia Kingsbury sofa and chair with a Grade 3 leather. A whopping $5,000 purchase. My sales rep was very friendly and informative. The order took approx. 8 week before delivery. I was so excited to get the call that the furniture was in but after examination of the quality I am disappointed. There are several bruises in the leather on the front of the sofa cushions and the chair's cushion has a permanent indentation after only having the furniture for two months! The integrity of the furniture is just not there. If I had to do it all over again, I would not have purchased Omnia! I am not a happy camper. The seams are not even, all of the cushions are filled with different levels of filler and I ordered firm seat cushions but they are not. Based on the quality and integrity of this furniture, I could have gone to Raymour or Ashley, save thousands. Shame on you Omnia for charging $2,700 for the sofa and $2,300 for the chair. Definitely not worth it!...See MoreSmartstrand carpet dilema
Comments (175)There are a lot of reasons to go with smart strand, but be careful of the patter salespeople use to push that brand. First, that isn't the only product that has a warranty against vomit. Most solution dyed products will have a warranty for that as well and even if they don't they'll perform strongly against it. Second, there is a real advantage to not relying on a topical stain treatment, but it does come at a cost. Spills on a smart strand carpet tend to pass into the backing quicker than a carpet with a heavy topical treatment and that's when stains become a real chore deal with regardless of how stain resistant your carpet is. Everything is tougher to clean when you're dealing with a stain that's penetrated the backing. So the big advantage of that imbedded stain treatment comes later down the line when you get to the end of the life of the carpet. 15 years down the road you'll still have pretty robust stain protection, but you're more likely to have to deal with reoccurring stains the first ten years when a top end topical treatment is really strong. I hope you love your new carpet and that it lasts for years, but I just thought you should know it sounds like your salesperson is a bit of a fibber, but there's a good chance he's only getting information from the company selling him products and hasn't done any research or invested in education....See MoreHomeStretch Sofas - Good Quality? Anybody have one?
Comments (66)I read the reviews before our purchase that we made in 02/21. In the showroom the sofa was extremely comfortable, sat exactly how I needed it to sit for me. I'm 6'1", 225 lbs, 66 with a history of lower lumbar issues. It was delivered and was wonderful - for about a month. It sank at least two inches. Seriously, so much that when I used the sofa it began to increase my back pain and then began to cause difficulty getting up from the sofa because the sunken portion places me in a position where my pelvis is lower than my knees. I finally made a claim with our furniture company - which has been great to deal with - and they sent someone to look at it 06/21. Yes, there's a definite issue the repair man said, and yes, maybe it's just a bad piece of foam. BTW, both reclining ends did this. So new inserts were ordered and their repair man brought them and put them in on a Tuesday. Before the next Tuesday rolled around, the sinking feeling has returned and is worsening. There's definitely something not right with the quality of the foam used here, or there's something wrong with the platform that supports the foam. Everything else seems to be quality and is to be appreciated, but honestly, what good is reclining 'comfort' furniture if that comfort doesn't last more than a month or even less? With that said, I know there's nothing better out there. Seriously. I think folks just need to understand this isn't going to hold it's comfort the same way it does when you try it out in the showroom....See MoreComparing Mohawk Smartstrand
Comments (4)Thanks, Echo. We actually ended up going with the local guy. We got quotes from Costco, HD and a local family owned store. Costco's quote was ridiculous. They were the most expensive on installation, with extra charges for just about everything, including a random $10.00 MISC charge, which even the sales guy couldn't explain. The local guy had one charge for the install, which was fully baked with rip up and removal, furniture moving, steps, binding, etc. No separate itemized charges. His entire install was less than Costco's basic install before all the Costco extras. The local guy was also able to beat HD's price on everything but the Silk III (lower twist), and we elected not to go with it because we wanted the better carpet. Another item I thought was interesting was that local guy was able to get the Mohawk spec sheets which cross-referenced HD's and Costco's Mohawk carpets to the Mohawk styles he sold. So, we knew we were comparing to apples to apples. Neither Costco nor HD could do that for us. In fact, the salesperson at HD didn't even know Mohawk put out a spec sheet on the carpet. The install is scheduled for next week but so far we have been happy with the price, knowledge and customer support provided by the local guy. He says he has been using the same installer for 8 years so hopefully all will go well with the install....See More- 12 years ago
