How big are the mango trees? If you have to move moderately sized trees in and out every year (as you must in Canada?) then I would suggest you replace the granite with something else. The only reason I would use the granite for a tree in a pot larger than ~8" is if you're worried about it being blown over or etc. It just makes the pots far too heavy to deal with. I ended up using ~1-1.5 bags of the gran-i-grit which put some pots at 75 lbs just for the granite component. The granite can be replaced with similarly sized perlite, charcoal, or anything else that doesn't hold significant quantities of water. Perlite would be the lightest option but you should check to see if mangos have any known issues with fluoride sensitivity (it's only an issue for a few types of plants). If you use charcoal make sure to wash it well to begin with and handle it gently as it is obviously more fragile than the granite etc.. I've used reptibark in the past and it will work - it is probably slightly larger than ideal and it is *very* expensive for what you get. You might even be able to mail order pine bark for less than you'll pay for the 24qt reptibark bags necessary for a large tree...

I read your posting as an acceptable small vent. As anyone, faced with label reading, shakes head, and wonders why all that stuff is necessary...the ingredient long list. (-and why we keep reading about the major suppliers deciding to 'clean-up' their horrid additives...Kraft taking out chemical dyes and using turmeric, etc) Their sales are dropping. It is all about money. I just completed a 4 day road trip. Prepped all our meals and beverages. All done in a flurry of multi-tasking the few days before. We bought one bag of ice just before the ferry for the pups. (they would knock over a bowl of water) My granola balls failed, but that another issue altogether. I did line up a dozen small bags and made a granola gorp...nuts, dried fruits, freeze-dried veg (good crunch), best addition was the ginger, cured two ways, one salt, the other sweet...cut the size of peas...the only sweet n salty in the mix. Lots of quick snacks can be portioned and made weeks in advance. -mine failed as it was too wet. I should have chopped by hand the dates, (my glue)...almond butter was too runny. I saved it but not as good as in the past....rolled in my granola and coconut flakes...nice small marble size balls. Had a big bag of organic carrots...peeled, cut into snack size, quick two hour pickling, then into food saver portioned bags. (with some olives and red pepper strips)...yes, a big waste of plastic, but for car snacking pulled from a cooler....success All the leftover small packages i tossed into the freezer last night. The paper thin meats with cheese slices will make a nice grilled cheese. Did not eat or make many sandwiches but we had options. Barely touched the humus but was great with carrot sticks...the other three small containers i froze. So we have lots of snacking for a few weeks.... To answer your original question...you can study, read, and learn. But will discover that buying anything packaged and overly processed is your enemy. Any good nutritionist will say the same. Being a NewYorker i've had just about every bar, nut/fruit bar available these days...hundreds of them now. I don't buy them as they are free at work...horribly expensive. We sample them when a new one is on the table, cut into peanut sizes. Some are ok. We like the Chia bars but i would not spend the money personally. Annie, Subway, lol. A young co-worker left a Subway in her hot car over a weekend and it looked the same a few days later... : )

My online shopping was all good: Kohl's, Best Buy, LL Bean, Land's End, Amazon and Ebay. I have my items sent to work as our neighborhood has sadly had things stolen from porches. There were some things I ordered late and they have not arrived yet - but I knew the dates were post-Christmas when I ordered. Only one is a semi-gift (a jacket for my husband who lost a lot of weight and needs one in a smaller size). The upside of those is that I'm shipping them to Son#1's place of work, as I won't be back to my own job for a couple of weeks. So we're going to meet him for dinner once he has both my orders. Katlan's rude checkout clerk reminded me of my rude clerk story from several years ago. I was buying Christmas ornaments to decorate a metal tree I'd gotten from a specialty store. The sum total was probably more than I'd spent for the tree itself. I was buying a couple of other things too. As the clerk was ringing the things up we realized that there was something wrong with one of the boxes I was buying. The clerk ended up being really rude about it. We finished the purchase with the plan that I would go way back to the seasonal section to get another box - even the cashier manager had come over to help because she heard the rude cashier. However, after starting to walk back to switch the boxes, instead I turned around and went over to customer service and told them I wanted to return everything. Everything?! Yes. I said that the clerk had been really rude and and that made me mentally step back and realize that I was overspending. Customer service wanted to know who the clerk had been, but I said that I understood that it's the stressful Christmas shopping season and I didn't want to point her out, but just wanted my money back. (I ended up getting the tree ornaments from Joanne Fabrics and used some JF Bucks I had to pay!) I guess a thank you to the rude clerk for helping me to spend less?

Thanks Fun2BHere! Its amazing how non-user friendly some door hardware sites are. If you click on an item for more info and click back you have to start all over, site doesn't take you to where you left off. If you find an entry styte you like and click on the page...why don't they show at the bottom of that page other options in the same brand and style such as a matching dummy to the set, OR anything in that catagory? If just a dummy handle shows up on a site why dont they show the matching non-dummy somewhere on the page when you click on it? This is going to take foreverrrrrrrr. Don't get me started on trying to find a way to order a different finish on the interior part of the knob/handle in the same catagory, style and brand. I'm thinking I need a knowlegeable customer service person who I can send an inspirational photo too and he/she can guide me.
