Why is it so hard to get Jenn Air pricing?
Comments (10)I don't know how many folks would think go to Consumer Reports for appliance pricing. While I am an on-line subscriber to CR, I did not think to go there. It was nice of you, however, to put that info up. I checked all around, many appliances dealers, Universal, Plessers, etc etc, All say "Call for price". This is really a "Sleeze bag way" to market appliances. I called Wolf out on it, and now at least they have MSRP's up on their website. As Much as I like my Jenn-air 48" built in fridge (7 years now), I would recommend you boycott Jenn-air until they "Clean up" their marketing act--ie put the prices up on their website!!!! I still immensely dislike fixed pricing, Wolf, Jenn-air, Miele etc etc, and if I were to buy almost anything, that which is not price fixed would get business. Many years ago price fixing was outlawed, but clever lawers just changed the name, and of course living where we have the "Finest Politicians Money can buy" we again have the "Price Fixing Plague" As far as hiding prices, that is truely OUTRAGEOUS!!! Think about it, all new cars, and even used cars must have a price right on the car. All gas stations must have prices posted. What so special about these "Appliance People", NUTTIN!!!! They are just spending the money in the right pockets, er I mean "Places" Now!!! Gary...See MoreWhy is car shopping so hard?
Comments (13)What troubles me more is having to buy something different. I prefer to keep a reliable vehicle going when I feel I know what I have. But occasionally you have to get something different. The last one I did something a bit different. I bought a lease return. Couldn't be more pleased. Still go through the same as buying a used vehicle - check it over, but I saved $18k over buying new and it sure doesn't bother me that it was 2 model years old with 20k miles. With reasonable care and reasonable luck, this should last me a long, long time. I can't see myself ever buying a new car again. Although I don't like dealing with car jockeys, I know that they're bottom-feeders. They seldom last long at one dealership. I know their games and don't play them. I know that they're not doing me any favors and I don't owe them a thing. I was buying a new vehicle about every 15-17 years so they know I'm not a repeat customer and although I have brands I prefer and brands I dislike, I'm not a brand-snob. I look for value and a vehicle that will serve my needs. These days reliability is comparable pretty much across the board for the most part. I also look for features and I look for potential troublespots. I also go with the attitude that I'm never going to find the "perfect" vehicle, just like you'll never find the "perfect" house. So I refuse to stress out over something like a vehicle purchase. What's the worst case scenario? Don't like it? Lemon? Yes you can get a lemon in a new vehicle or a used one. So then you sell it and get something else. Big deal. Relax. A vehicle isn't worth stressing yourself. There's plenty of other things to cause you stress, many of which are far better....See MoreWhy is a backsplash so hard to choose?
Comments (78)Basically from a professional stand point, I deal with this dilemma on a daily basis. In my opinion having multiple levels of contrast really makes a kitchen stand out. What I mean is that the flooring should be opposite color from the cabinets, the counter top should match the floors, but the backsplash should tie all the elements together. I personally don't like when the floors, cabinets, countertop, and backsplash all match too much. For me to give my honest opinion on which backsplash I would put in my house, I would have to know the color of the floors and cabinets. However, without seeing those factors, I like the backsplash on the right more since it has more contrast then the option on the left, but still maintains similar colors too the counter. Regardless of my opinion, there is no real rule to this and is just my personal preference. Good luck on you decision. -Deluxe Vanity...See MoreWHY IS GRAY SO HARD?!?! help
Comments (291)I didn’t necessarily change my mind about the wedding pictures over the bed - I just happened upon that picture and really liked it. It combines some of my favorite things - the mountains and the sky, with the water - my favorite surroundings - (I even named my daughters Skye and River) - my favorite colors, and it has an Impressionism feel, which is my preference for art. It has everything I love in one picture! It didn’t even occur to me to that it had a modern feel! Lol - oh well. I do still have the nightstands. I’m keeping them for now and will replace them once I raise my bed....See MoreSapphireStitch
