That mustangs is so considerate

She knows I have been having joint issues, so she sent me a jar opener that doesn't kill your wrists, and some bag clips (I had these on the gorcery list for the week) but she sent ones that don't work like the spring ones, which are painful when you have joint pain. They are a new kind, kind of like a barrette works. I have never seen them before. Then she sent a box of Evert green bags, which I was all out of.

Cathy, there is a reason that you are my good friend. It's not for gifts or floweres either. It is for your very sincere love and concern for your friends.

I received them on Wednesday, but I had worked Thursday until 10 at night, was swamped on Fri and Sat, and now I have 2 little ragamuffins (ages 2 and 6 month) staying here, so I am sneaking this in between naps.

Oh, wow! There are very few things in life sweeter than finding The Perfect Present for someone you care about. Although I'm a newbie to this board who doesn't 'know' either one of you, I just wanted to say those have to be some of the most thoughtful gifts ever. Aren't you a pair of lucky (cyber)ducks to share such a friendship?

Gina, hot flashes? Have fun! I was lucky, had a few then they were gone....except, each night for a couple of years I would wake up about 4AM, night sweats. Cathy... I love all the goodies. I know you had fun shopping. I haven't seen a colander like that before. Blunt end spoons are my very favorite. Any store I'm in, that sells kitchen goods, I look for that style of spoon, I buy everyone I find that's different from what I have...big, little, metal, plastic, wood, holey (sp?), solid! Very beautiful! NaCl as fine art. I LOVE that cook book title! I'd love to call a bookstore and ask for it, he he! We definitely need a report on that pan. Cleaning the range after frying is a PITA (as opposed to P&S--which could stand for Pain and Suffering, which I would be in without a Point & Shoot). Great job Cathy!

WalnutCreek, I used to crack an egg into a custard cup and put it into the microwave when I was still working. Cook it hard, slap it onto an English Muffin and a quick breakfast sandwich. It was the occasional substitute for an english muffin with peanut butter when I accidentally ran out of peanut butter! I don't like microwaved eggs as well as I do those prepared in more conventional way, but they're fine in a pinch. I don't care for scrambled eggs at all, so never tried those, but I did show my granddaughter how to make french toast in the microwave, she does that before school sometimes. It's easy, just beat an egg with a couple of tablespoons of milk, add a little sugar and vanilla if you like, cube a slice of bread and add that, stir to make sure all the bread is covered and submerged as much as possible. Microwave 2 minutes, stick a knife in the middle to see if it's done. If not, cook 30 seconds at a time until it does test done. I have some of those small square corningware dishes, and they are the perfect size for the french toast. Annie

Sherry, I hope your new "doodads" help and that your pain is under control.

Green bags? Are those the ones I have seen advertised to keep produce fresh longer? Do they work? I have been meaning to order some, and if you say they work I will make certain that I do!

I love the bag clips. I use them on bread bags. I hate those twist ties. I sometimes use the clip clothespins for the bread bags and also to close cereal bags inside the box.

Oh Sherry, I couldn't come to help so I sent my helpers.

Now, those of you who know me know I'm not a sweet or super! I am energized by friends and an opportunity.

Linda, The green bags are Evert Fresh available at natural foods stores and the Internet. I can't respond to the effectiveness of the ones on the infomercial but the Evert Fresh bags are great. I throw out so much that I have to use them as well as to be more disciplined with my buying habits or maybe it's my cooking habits.

Shirley, I bought some bags for my neighbor. About a month later she asked me how she was suppose to keep them closed (her talents aren't in the kitchen). I did a little research and found some interesting clips and bought some for myself and her. I wanted to share them with Sherry but I thought they wouldn't be a good option for Sherry's arthritic problem.

Ummm... I beg to differ. I know Cathy and she's definitely a super Super and a sweet Sweet!

I also join in on wishing good health for Sherry, another Super Sweet on this forum.

They sell those Evert bags at most of my local grocery stores in the produced department. But I'd never noticed them till I read about them here. So check around they might be "hidden in plain sight".

Jessy, I got the Oxo jar opener. I read through reviews trying to find the easiest one. I bought one for myself first to test it before buying it for our friend.

Earthly, Check out this website. The large are very large. I find that I use the small most often then the medium. But then, there are only 2 of us.
