How do you dispose oil/gas mix?
Comments (15)Not a bad idea to be concerned about the cat and O2 sensor but I don't think it will be a problem if you dilute it thoroughly as said. I have a high mileage (293k) car with cat and O2 sensor that burns a qt of oil every ~700 miles and no issues besides a bit of blue smoke at times. That works out to about a qt of oil burned for every 28 gallons gas....See MoreHow do you dispose of ...
Comments (14)I had a bit of a time getting rid of old trash cans at my vacation place. A friend bought me new cans and taped a note to the old cans that these were old and now are trash. The garbage people never took them, I think because they just reach into the cans and pull out the bags. They probably didn't notice the note, just that there weren't any bags in those cans. He tried a bigger note but by the time of my next visit, they were still there and the note was on the ground, all faded and waterlogged. Luckily, since I was there and heard the truck, I pulled the cans out and waited for the guy to ask him to take them away. I don't fault the garbage people, it's not always obvious which beat up old can is still in use or should be part of the trash. IMO, my friend bought too many cans, we have twice a week pick up so they're never too full, and now I'm trying to find a neighbor that might need a new trash can so I can get rid of one. Now that we also have curbside recycling, I doubt my friend and his family fill three cans, twice a week....See MoreHow do you dispose your Rose branches?
Comments (36)Love the shredders! Not sure I'd want to use my rose shreds around the bushes tho. Don't wanna spread more B/S and mildew. I suppose if I let it compost in a pile for a yr or so, maybe that would work ok. Luckily, we have mandatory recycling and green waste pickups. Everybody has two 94 gal green waste cans that get picked up every other week. I pay extra to have a third can due to all the cuttings and pine needles. I just haul a smaller plastic trash can around when I'm pruning and then go dump it into the green waste cans. Before they went to the mandatory recycling, my husband used to haul it to the dump every so often. Ya know... the dang pine needles are worse than the rose cuttings. I bet I fill up 40 cans a yr, just in pine needles. I wonder if those chippers would cut them up? Once they do decompose, they make pretty decent mulch. But when they're fresh, they're a big messy, slippery carpet, that on my sloped property can be dangerous. And the pine cones?! OMG, I've almost biffed it many times stepping on those dang things!...See MoreHow do you dispose of pumpkins or gourds after the holidays?
Comments (45)"Animals love them. Especially elephants and hippos" lol. yes, let me just go out in the backyard and feed them as they graze nearby! If I lived in Zimbabwe, perfect advice! Driving to the zoo is not practical. outside of that, i've never seen a hippo. or an elephant for that matter. Plenty of raccoons, opossums, squirrels, coyotes, rats and mice though. I'd toss them into the hills that surround the area. Good for mulch too. can't eat them, becuase if they've sat out for a few days, they've gone bad. find for animals, not for humans....See Morehhireno
