kitchen table ideas needed

We are renovating our kitchen and in the new kitchen, we will have a window seat and we plan to put a new kitchen table in front of it (and two chairs on the opposite side). The table dimensions need to be about 60" x 30". Narrow because the space won't allow for a 36" or 42" wide table. I also want a pedestal for ease in getting in and out of the window seat. Our kitchen cabinets will be a combination of off-white painted maple, and natural stained cherry. Shaker style. I am looking for a kitchen table that works with all of the above AND will hold up to heavy use by an active family! Any suggestions?

You may want to check out Canadel tables. Click on the "Table with Options" link. Maybe the "boat" shape table would work? Good Luck!

I need a 30" wide table as well and couldn't find anything affordable in the stores. I ended up getting a trestle table at the antique shop.

What a pretty room! I love the red chairs and the wall color. I would either remove those shades or get curtains to cover them. Quite likely from the outside they look like there are brown paper bags at the Windows. Could you place a small table with a lamp between the two chairs? I would try to use the floor lamp somewhere in the room. Lamp light is very important . You can then turn off the overhead light. Are you planning to get a rug?

I agree 36" is too small for a table in this space unless you just want to drink coffee there, no meals. We also just moved into a new to us house and brought in my husbands mothers old 42" oak table. It works perfect in our spot but we really can't use normal sized placemats because of the tight circle. I wouldn't even consider a smaller table for this space. It really needs to be centered under the light. Ours isn't in this picture but we were just getting things in place while moving. It is centered now

I’m back!! So much progress :) Painter is coming next week so look past all the wood tones. Still haven’t picked colors. Probably shoji on cabs and black island. Changes with the wind ;) I added a photo with measurements as I still can’t figure out what table layout/if any will work here. And if no table.. I have this empty space. Maybe a bistro? The island will have 3 backless stools. 2 in front and 1 on the end. That way they can be out of the way when not in use. I would love ideas!
