Happy Valentine's Day!

What special traditions do you have for Valentine's Day? I like to have King Crab legs and seared scallops, but that might not happen this year! I had the scallops last night.

Congratulations ImHappy. will have to look up what you bought. Not familiar at all with the name. I have had my car over two years and still do not know how to work all of the bells and whistles. I have been good and finally tonight I glued the last piece of fill in for the hallway wall. Now to do the top part of the arbor then the pond plants grout all of it and I will be done. Not sure I will get it done by March which will be the three year point of starting. course I did not work on it constantly all that time. I finally feel like I made some progress. Happy to be back to creating again and not just filling in background. PHEW it will still be a long time before I see ground around here except for my driveway which I kept shoveled and it has melted about 85% of it. The walkway from front door to garage was terribly slick so I threw down some kitty litter on it. That really helped and I managed to get my trash out to the garage and also walk to the post office. The storm coming through gave a break today and was mostly freezing rain. Why everything is so slick.

Here DV is tucked in under snow which is a good thing. I think this Arctic blast will be the first time all season we may actually hit zero tonight with wind chill putting us at -10. Snow has not been plentiful this season and temps bouncing from 40's down to 20's. I think the highest snowfall this season was about 6-7 inches and that melted quickly. However, the storm we had recently will most likely hang around for longer this time. Can't wait till spring warmth arrives. Julia

Lars, I love the heart! I am an "expert". Well, I used to collect hearts when I was young. Heart earrings, boxes, shirts, you name it. And yours is especially appealing.

I've only bought champagne, but I think I am going to attempt to use some Michigan cherries in a pork tenderloin dish. And chocolate mousse, with a bit of chili in it. Just the kiddo and me. But that's ok, it'll just be different (really, really different) than it would be if I were on a date. HA!

Happy V. Day to everyone! DH took the day off and we had lunch down on the Santa Cruz Wharf. It was a beautiful sunny 60 deg. day. I got the fish and chips and he got crab cakes, then we shared a coffee almond fudge gelato for dessert. For dinner we picked up a take and bake margherita pizza. I baked Pillsbury heart cookies for dessert later.

Happy Valentine's Day. I have a salt and rosemary chicken roasting in the oven with potatoes under the chicken - all of that good chicken fat dripping on them. Just like the wonderful rotiss chickens and potaoes in Paris.

Made chocolate banana tarts with pecan sandie cookie crust.

Happy V Day, I'd completely forgotten about it. I don't have any traditions and mostly just ignore it. Yeah, I know, no romance at all.

I guess I'd better call Elery and tell him Happy Valentine's Day....
