Did I break something (winterization / trimmer)
Comments (5)I also agree oil residue left in the crank case. I also agree on no harm done. If you don't want to see the smoke next time remove the crankcase cover and spark plug, spray out with carb. cleaner then pull the rope. The carb. cleaner will wash out any oil in the cylinder and crank case and the excess will be blown out the spark plug hole, roll it over so any liquid can run out the crankcase. install the crank case cover and it should fire on the first or second pull being it's been primed with the carb. cleaner. Some will spout you will wash all the oil off the bearings and cylinder walls. do it all the time and have done it for 40 some odd ever sence I couldn't get my first tiller running (by the way it still runs great and don't smoke and has good compression) been doing it for years with blowers, chain saws, weedeaters, tillers, pushmowers, LT, mowers I got off the curve that someone throwed away cause the couldn't get it started in the spring, and even my 67 ranger after it was in storage for 6 years. So far I have lost an engine due to wear or oiling problem yet, matter of fact the curb mower has been runing fine for 4 years now and all I did was clean up the fuel system and comb. chamber, changed the oil and blade. The carb. cleaner burns off quickly and the gas being sucked in on two strokes has oil in it so for the couple of seconds with no load on the engine it don't hurt a thing except for cleaning out the crank case and comb chamber. Now don't go and fill the gas tank up with carb. cleaner and go weedwacking cause after the engine warms up and you pull a load on it the heat will cause it to want to freeze up after about 5 mins or more. remember I said a few seconds not weedeating your hole yard....See MoreHow to exercise with broken foot?
Comments (31)Hi Everyone- 3 months ago I hurt my foot and I believe it is a Jones fracture of the 5th metatarcil. The Dr. I saw dismissed it as tendonitis, and gave me no info or help because the fracture didn't show up on the X-ray. He was supposed to get me an MRI and that was 2 months ago. AS it got much worse from walking on it I went a bought a boot. Make a long story short, the Dr office has been dreadfully unhelpful,(different people call back, lose orders, etc) and I am in severe pain and back in the boot when I thought it was getting much better a few weeks ago,. But I was packing and moving and bending over to carry heavy boxes and twisted my foot and now the bone is painful, red and swollen again. It hurts all night when I try to sleep. I have a hard time finding a new doctor. Should I go to an Urgent care. It has been over 3 months I have been incapacitated. I am a single Mom and have no one to help me or drive me. Driving every day hurts but I have to. I cannot get motivated to go in to Urgent care but think I must. Any advice? (I had also herniated a disc in my back last fall and it took 6 months to heal) I am 49 yr old female. Some of the other Dr office I called said they aren't taking new patients...What to do? I had done this to my foot by taking a leap up into the air and landing on it (the one foot) wrong (was trying to demonstrate a dance move to my kids)It hurt for a few days before I realized something was wrong....See MoreDid the Polar Vortex Break My Window?
Comments (3)How old is the window? The older glass is, the more subject it is to spontaneously cracking sometimes even without temperature stress. In the middle of one summer night, I was awakened by a bang followed by an odd crackling noise. After waking my sound sleeping DH to help me investigate, we found that the glass bath tub door had a big multi-directional crack. The crackling was the cracking continuing to spread until the whole thing was in little glass pebbles held together by the safety wire. It's a good thing all our boys were at camp, as it might have been hard to believe that one of them hadn't bumped into it in the night and scurried back to bed....See MoreDid I break my bathroom? Comments (2)Well, I don't know about better or worse, exactly, but have you considered switching the toilet and shower? If the toilet is against the wall, you can keep your larger window, and then the toilet is only hemmed in on one side, instead of squeezed in between the two fixtures. I've seen other bathrooms here where the vanity ran into a half wall at the shower, which looked fine....See Morework_in_progress_08
