Whats your favorite concoction? And (im not sure id do it or not, just curious) does it have to be a spicific kind of pine needles? I want to try lavender and bergamont sometime. I tried Lemon Balm tea and didnt like it. It was like I was sucking on a citronella misquito candle. Ps. I read something interesting about the history of Calendula officinalis in my herb book. It got its name from the Romans because this plant could be found blooming every month of the calendar year around Rome (Calendar=Calendula). And a long time ago Calendula was used to flavor and color butter and cheeses. Im not really a 'self medicating by herbs' kind of person, but I enjoy reading about them in my herb book. Its called The Complete Book of Herbs- by Lesley Bremness. It has a photo and description of the plant and its history. It also gives culinary, medical, and cosmetic uses as well as info on how to cultivate, harvest, preserve, and use the herbs. CMK

Ruthanna, I thought I might have been the only one who ever made dandelion wine. It was very sweet and altogether disgusting. LOL I've also made beer and Elery made a batch of wine that was much better. At least I guess it was, atleast people drank HIS! I've made everything listed here at leas5t once, including the sauerkraut, yogurt, butter, pickles, ketchup. I also make my own sausage and my own pancetta. Elery is in charge of smoking fish, though. I work fulltime and don't have a lot of people to feed, but it's more like my hobby than anything. I like to can and make things that cause others to raise their eyebrows. Sometimes it's worth the trouble, sometimes not. I don't think peanut butter or English Muffins are worth the trouble, neither are bagels. Sauerkraut is, though! Annie

Hi Yindepei, Your plants are beautiful! I want to warn you that our terrible president has made some deals with your country,some parts are still being reviewed. It would be terrible if your country imports GMO seeds, toxic pesticides and weed killers. Weeds and insects become immune to it and then you need to use more poisons and stronger poisons. Don't let this happen! They lie and say it is great, even give loans to farmers. When they have to buy more and more, they can't pay loans- many farmers in India have killed themselves. If you can spread the word or tell me how to warn your leader, it would be great. Your country is doing great with solar power!

I’m with everyone else. I think you might hate it or not use it for its purpose if you did it. Think of all the traffic and shoes going in and out of your master bedroom (especially if you have carpet), not to mention carting food back and forth through it. Also, if you or your spouse isnt feeling well, or has to head to bed early while the party continues, its right outside your bedroom, and everyone gets to tromp right through your bedroom on the way out. And, they’ll all be using your master bath. Out front off the kitchen or dining would be a much better location. You can add higher rails for privacy, cover with lattice or plants or both. Tons of options/ideas.
