I love that outfit!

I'm all about strappy tank tops under jackets but I won't take the jacket off. Are you planning to? If the tank was a nice one with a wider strap, maybe. Some type of t shirt 'could' work but it would have to be the right style.

I'm confused about the straps showing? They shouldn't unless you take the jacket off.

I'd get nude undies for the pants.

I have a few of these shirts from VS. I really like them.

I also have the crewneck tee but it's higher up and would change the look of the outfit.

Nude underwear under the white pants would be good.

I have no problem with a tank top under the jacket and the straps probably won't show. I wear those often, but I keep the jacket on.

I do have a problem with the white top if it's not the exact white of the pants. For that reason ,unless the pants and top are a matched white set I'd suggest a yellow, red or lime green tank or scoop neck tee.

I love that jacket. And the spectator pumps are an added bonus!!!

Oh thanks everybody. I forgot about maybe I'd want to take the jacket off at some point (duh). So I'll look for a dressy t shirt as I'm not really tank top material. monablair, those color suggestions would be good too.

Jones New York has a t-shirt that comes in the prettiest green as well as white. If I wore a green shirt instead of white, then nobody could complain, if I took the jacket off, that I was showing disrespect for the bride by wearing white.

And thanks for the suggestion for nude undies. I wasn't sure if such a thing existed.

I think that you definitely need a scoop neck T or tank top. I don't think that a crew neck would look as nice under the jacket (which is very cute!)

terriks is right. The shirt in the pic works because it's lower and a square neckline. Look at this one from Macy's in a bright yellow.

Try the nude Spanx capri liners under the linen pants.
They are unbelievably comfortable and show no lines.

I have had two pair for three years, wear them several times a week and they look and wear like new!

Here's the mock-up. I don't think a crew neck tee looks too bad. I have a long neck, & crews were always flattering. But we'll see when the jacket arrives. Monablair's silk blouse idea looks like it's worth buying too.

I was just thinking how some t's bunch under jackets unless they're pretty snug. (A lot depends on the cut too, tho.) I used to wear little cap or short sleeve silk or rayon type fabric blouses under jackets at work, tapered in at the waist. They hung nicely under a jacket, didn't bunch like a cotton T might, so looked nice (no wrinkles) if I took off the jacket. Just something to consider maybe?

This could be nice, even if I don't have great arms (not awful, just not great). Square neck line, nice straps, dressy enough, & I like the shell pink.

The jacket came! It's a lighter, finer knit than I thought it would be, so whatever I wear underneath needs to be thin & snug.

You really need a low straight -square- neckline. I would plan on leaving the jacket on because with it off you will have an all white outfit which could be boring. I also would prefer a lime green tee underneath unless you won't take the jacket off.
If you go white, it should match the pants perfectly.
I would wear flesh colored pantyhose with the feet cut off. No panty lines and if you need it, you could get a control top.
Add some great jewelry, particularly if you plan on taking the jacket off.

I like the blouse, have always been partial to that color.

I think this would be stunning underneath. The pattern would be more interesting than a solid,and it has a more sophisticated, dressy feel than a tee might,particularly if you want to open the jacket.

Thanks, les, that's a good suggestion too. The top has some spandex in it, so it's probably the right fit. The site says it's "likely available in store," so I'll look for it when I go to the mall today.

Oh, forgot to add that the jacket's very light, so I probably won't take it off.

Well, found the Spanx, but didn't find the indigo lace tank. Didn't find the Jones New York pink tank either. So I ended up with a navy Ralph Lauren cotton top that has the tiniest allover cable knit pattern, something I can wear with a lot of things. It's a demure scoop neck. Staid, perhaps, but it looks nice with the jacket. It's a good Aunt of The Bride outfit. I found a navy & ice blue lucite necklace to liven it up a bit.
