high-end vinyl floor and chair leg protectors

I have a high end vinyl floor and 2 bar stools at the breakfast island. I keep padded, felt stickers on on the bottom of the chairs, but they continually work their way off or partially off.

What happened was one of the self-leveling chair bottoms was crocked and made many grooves or creases in the vinyl floor that can't be fixed. I want to prevent this from happening again.

I was thinking of cutting circles from a spare piece of same vinyl and glueing them to the bottom of each chair leg (pad side down) so this doesn't happen again. My question is: Will having the padded vinyl on the bottom of the chair legs cause the vinyl floor to yellow over time if the chair legs are in the approximate same place each time when moved in and out? I ask because I was told by the floor installer some time ago not to use rubber backed mats on the floor, so I don't. The padding on the vinyl backing doesn't appear to be rubber.

Hope this makes sense. Thanks.
