Yeah, it's weird for us this time of year. Today is 78 degrees and tomorrow is 80 something. Remember that cream colored jacket we discussed about wearing to the wedding? The wedding is tomorrow and even though I'd probably be comfortable temp. wise I'd look odd wearing that, iykwim. Red short sleeved top for me.

I'm ready for the warm weather though. I just wish it would stay in the 70s all summer with no humidity.

I noticed here everything is just starting to get green but lots of trees are flowering. I don't know much about trees, but to me, it looks like it's happening early.

Things are pretty much right on schedule here although the azaleas are blooming about two weeks behind schedule. Turned on the a/c last night for the first time this year. I like to keep the windows open, but pollen has been falling for the past couple weeks and that plays havoc with dh's sinuses.

Here in Montreal we went from 45 to 75 within 24 hours; the city is nuts,
also being Good Friday, all offices and banks are closed, so crowds are milling about, it's a fun atmosphere. Same high for tomorrow is predicted, then sunday will go down slightly.

We're a bit higher than normal but not exceedingly so. Supposed to be back in the low to mid 70's next week which is more in line. We also have AC on today. Went out for breakfast and a little antiquing, came in about noon and the house was warm.

I think this is all El Nino. We had a cooler than normal summer last year (and thankfully no drought!), who knows what this year will bring?! We seem to be pretty much on target with what is blooming at this time. Love this time of year!

I woke up to snow this morning! It has let up a bit but sheesh! ... Hello spring! That is a nice white coat you are wearing!

Almost 80 degrees today. My daylillies are already bushy, the hostas are about 4 inches out of the ground, and my beautiful purple magnolia is in full bloom. Seems a little early this year, but I'm not complainin'.

Snow, geez, I am so glad that winter here is O-V-E-R.

Spring storm here. High winds on the coast (70+MPH), good gusts (30+mph) inland. Heavy rain, then sunny skies, then rain. I heard that the mountain ranges were going to get dumped on with wet snow, but that is good, as our snowpack is only 66% of normal...meaning water curtailment.

As far as blooms go, it's all on track here. My tulips and daffys are almost done. Cherry blossoms are all over, dogwoods are done. My roses are all ablaze with red leaves, and I noticed some bud swelss. Hostas are about 6" up...and grass pollen...OHMYGOSH. Bad right now.

So we're hoping the wind & rain isn't too bad to cause trees problems. In a week or so we might be into some sun, but then back to rain again.

It's been very warm here, too. The strange thing is it looks like it will stay that way for the rest of the week. We can get spikes in temperature, but they usually only last a few days, it seems. This is a pretty long run of heat and I wonder what it's going to do to my cool-season veggies...

It has been the most amazing March in Minnesota. We had no snow in March and even had 70 degree temps! Many years we get snow in April so this is such a welcomed surprise. (The only way to explain it is that Mother Nature is catholic and is making up for the ton of snow we got in October.)

It is amazing what lovely weather can do to lift your spirits.

Here in Ma. we've had wonderful breaks all winter. Had 70s in Feb.Today will be 80. I love it!!!! Of course we COULD have a blizzard next week. That's New England for you.

Yes, the trees are budding early and I've already got the seeds of my tomatoe plants sprouting. We only had a tiny trace of snow in March and I could tell early on in the month it was going to get warm quick. It makes sense to me though because in our area (Michigan) we've had some weird fall weather the past couple of years. It's been getting cold early then warm again, then cold..the poor foliage keeps getting all confused about what it's supposed to do and the color change has suffered as a result. This year, I'm glad spring is early as I've never grown used to having a white Easter. We had a thunderstorm today and it was heaven!

Well, I was happy that it warmed up early, but it has gone a little too far at this point. Our temps are supposed to be in the upper 80s for the rest of the week! Azaleas have already popped a month early. What happened to at least a few weeks of lovely 70 degree weather???? I have way to much to do in the garden and HATE working in the heat. Oh well-better than four feet of snow, I guess, although that was great fun last February!

My bleeding hearts are just blooming and my tulips are showing their colors (not open though). My lilacs are tiny little purple buds and the dogwoods haven't yet even started to bloom. They bloom in the middle of May here.

It snowed again yesterday morning but it's given in to sunshine and tall grass today. Too wet to mow though.

I don't envy you the snow, golddust. Had enough of that this winter to last a looong time.

Since I first posted this it's the same as cyn427 says, where's the refreshing 70 degrees days? We hit 83 today. Sun is setting and it's still 74, feels like a mid-summer evening. Everything is busting open! I am concerned about my hydrangeas (among my favorites). The rarer ones are overwintered in the garage, so if we have a cold snap they can go right back inside. But the ones in the ground are all leafing out like crazy. It's usually mid - late May before I can tell which stems are going to have leaf buds and which died off and I can cut back. Hopefully no cold snap will freeze them, because they're all looking good this year! The other morning I checked peonies, stems were about 2" high max or just coming through. Came home end of day and many were easily at 6", unreal!

I'm glad to have it, truly, but have a hunch this means we're headed for a pretty hot summer. As much as I love being outside, I just can't handle working in high humidity and heat anymore.

We missed spring temps, too. There's yellow pollen everywhere, but instead of seasonably mild 70s we're seeing highs in the upper 80s - low 90s. Like Moonshadow, I can't handle the high humidity and heat anymore either, so am very thankful for central air.

When I was little, my parents installed A/C in our home but Mother refused to turn it on until after Memorial Day (in the deep south.) I can remember so many miserably humid nights when it was very difficult to get to sleep. A box fan stirred the oppressively hot air but it didn't help much. I must have used up a container of baby powder every couple of weeks, dusting the sheets to keep from feeling so sticky. I know that our power bill will be sky high this year, but I am so glad to be able to cool off at night with the A/C.
