TGIF everyone!

Poor Ashley. I still remember getting my wisdom teeth out and it has been almost 30 years ago. She is lucky to have such a great mom to take care of her.

We are finally closing on the new house at noon today. I hope to be stripping wallpaper by 2:00 this afternoon. Then I have to paint at least the dining room before we move on Monday.

Sunday evening will be spent at our neighbors Super Bowl Party. Go Colts! Although I am torn because Drew Brees played his college ball here at Purdue.

Nothing special here this weekend. Heck when you're retired it's always the weekend.

Today Clive and I are going to the ST Lawrence Market and then out for dinner. Nothing planned for the rest of the weekend except watching the game and enjoying some football food.

Annie, I'll sit here and have a cup of coffee with you. Please give Ashley a hug from me. About 15 yrs ago I had all my wisdom teeth removed. Tell here to take her pain meds even if she doesn't think she needs them. I thought I didn't need them....then they wore off and I found out I did need them. After a couple of days, I was a new person. No biggie.

No weekend plans, at least not yet. I suggested to Kim that we should do some furniture shopping tomorrow but the response was lukewarm. She hates shopping. We need to buy a new bed and that is something I refuse to pick out alone, anything else I can handle. Without a doubt, it will be a football Sunday!

For those with bad weather heading their way...take care, stay warm and let's hope winter leaves soon!

Oh dear, poor Ashley. Oh well, it will all be over soon. How many have to come out? All four? I still have mine. They look so funny in x-rays. They are totally sideways. But if they aren't causing a problem, they can just stay where they are.

Snow on the way here so the weekend will be spent at home and shoveling snow. Of course it depends on how much we get. At the moment the weather reporters are makin it sound like the Apocalypse is on the way.

I did make my grocery store run last night, so I have the fixins for Broccoli Soup and pulled pork.

I am counting the days until retirement! The least I will work is 17 months and the most -- who knows.

I'll watch the game, too. For Linda, Go Colts. For Karen, Go Saints. For me, Go Commercials.

Being "underemployed" is kind of like being retired. Friday is the same as every other day. Ah well, something will open up soon, I hope. I am being pro-active, I hope that helps!

Cleaning and making food tomorrow for Sunday. We are having several of our neighbors over for the game. Not being a football fan, I'll leave the rooting to all of you! "Go Commercials"...LOL, Pam! That pretty much sums it up for me, too!

I had my wisdom teeth out when I was 21, my parents were overseas, and my next door neighbor made me apple sauce and took care of me. I married him, grin.

Tonight DH and I are making a whole, roast DUCK. Yeehaw. Tomorrow, some friends and I are getting dressed up in 1960s costumes and going to Dr. Laura's birthday party (with thousands of others, LOL), leaving the men at home!

Sunday - superbowl!

Here I thought my 60's pantsuits were still in style... now you call them a costume???? Polyester was supposed to last forever!

Annie, I've got all my wisdom teeth so I can't relate. But good luck with the chipmunk this weekend!

While most of everyone is excited about football, in my house the energy's up because of the start of NASCAR, with the pre-season Bud Shootout tomorrow night. December and January are two long months with no races to watch!

DW has a baby shower to go to on Sunday. Obviously the hostess isn't a football fan. I'm going to a friend's house for a small Superbowl party. Let me see, so far we have Go Saints, Go Colts and Go Commercials. I'll simply add Go Beer! (I'm more excited about picking out a paint color for the bedroom...)

I have an old leisure suit that was left behind by the XH. My son uses it as a Halloween costume. He looks like John Travolta in Sat Night Fever. I guess that's the 70's, though. I also have a pair of hip hugger jeans from the 60's. I think they would cover one thigh now. Boo hoo.

TGIF, all. Clinking with a mediocre cup of hotel coffee as I pack up to head home from meetings in Boise, back to the land of old slow dialup...sighhh. It'll be lunch with DH's aunt and a couple of her friends, then to the airport. Looking forward to my own bed tonight.

Good luck to Ashley. Liana has her top wisdoms out a few weeks ago. She came home to hide out and be taken care of. Her only request was for me to buy her pudding packs. "The kind with chocolate AND vanilla, please.

sounds like everyone is celebrating the superbowl! Scott just returned from 3 weeks in Asia Pacific, so he is still a bit out of sorts...up working out at 3 AM...Tomorrow, Will was selected to play his sax in the All County band -and the concert is at 3PM. He practices til 7:30 tonight and leaves at 7:15 tomorrow Am for all day practicing before the concert! Long weekend for him.

I've got to finish painting my bedroom.

Clinking with my cup of tea. It seems more people are happy about this Friday than most weeks. I have no interest in football, and so I will not be watching, but I will have to stay in most of the week-end since it is raining and is supposed to rain all week-end. I've had my sprinklers turned for for two weeks now.

I had my wisdom teeth out when I was 18 (I think), and I had them put me in the hospital and unconscious - they were impacted, and so it was not going to be easy. They gave me seconols when I first got to the hospital just to calm me down (Don't tell Ashley!). I don't remember anything after that, but I might not have needed the anesthetic after the seconols.

I haven't been grocery shopping in two weeks, and so we will definitely have to go on Saturday. I've been good about using what's in the freezer, and I almost need to restock it (but not quite) now. I've been vacuum sealing a lot of things lately, and that has really helped. I love the jar sealer.

TGIF y'all! Hanging out tonight, life is so hectic we'd like to be home for one night! Tomorrow night the grands will sleep over and we'll play on Sunday too. It's been two weeks since we've been with them. We're invited somewhere for the game, but neither of us are really interested in the party or the game. Just want to see the commercials, but that's what UTube is for! LOL

Annie- my wisdom teeth (4) were pretty easy, just feed Ashley lots of protein today, no pudding packs. Maybe every two hours - scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt or whatever she can suck down. My oral surgeon prescribed that method years ago and it worked well for me and for my kids too. Take the pain meds and wake her up for protein. Ice packs for swelling (frozen peas or corn?) and she'll be much better tomorrow. Wishing her a very easy time of it!

I had my wisdom teeth surgically removed also and I am glad I had the anesthesia! Don't remember a doggone thing. Had mac and cheese afterwards and shakes. Mmm.

It's not the pudding, the idea is to force protein to aid in healing. The pudding is fine, but not to the expense of eating protein.
He had me chew gum on the front teeth the second day. It was difficult, but again none of us every had the problem of dry socket. Swelling is less and healing is faster--compared with others who didn't use this method.

I am clinking you with my water now,(Dr. Pepper at 3:00 pm)I guess I am lucky: I never got any of my wisdom teeth. Give Ashley hugs from all of us.
I pick up the babies after work tonight and will have them until Sunday. We are taking them tomorrow to the Grand Rapids children's museum. It is supposed to be wonderful. We don't really do the football thing here, but Roger will probably watch since our daughter is such a fan, and our granddaughter was a Junior Colts cheerleader.
Other than baby snuggling, I have no other plans for the weekend. Cheers everybody!

Oh all this talk of wisdom teeth...I have needed mine to be taken out for the last 5 years but have put it off - I'm a weenie! I'm sure Ashley will be just fine.

Yes it is a big football weekend and I will be watching. We were going to go to a party but we are getting another round of snow - 2 feet again so no can do - not in my area and most everyone has cancelled out. Driving in this area with that amount of snow (only major highways will be plowed) so a long weekend inside. We enjoy all sports and the Super Bowl is a big event for us even though my team is not playing.

The new puppy will love the snow once we get some paths made for him to do his business!

I went to the grocery store yesterday to get some needed items plus some that I didn't need but it will make for some good cooking:)

We're waiting for the big snow. Last night the Philly news had a reporter at Home Depot talking to people who couldn't buy a snow shovel because none were left. It's February! Why don't they already have one?
We're all set with food for a cozy weekend. I just had to look up the Colts on Google to see what city they're from, so you can tell I won't have the game on. Dh was amazed I knew that the other team was from New Orleans (he didn't) and I told him it was thanks to this forum!

And to the ladies who are painting...I admire you. I used to do that but now I think I'll call in the handyman to prepare the spare room for my sister's visit in the summer.

Tonight there's the big carnival queen contest on the next island of Gran Canaria so I'll be glued to the TV for the spectacle. The local contest here in Tenerife comes a few days later.
Love looking at all those incredible outfits and the hoopla that surrounds the show.

I may go and pay a visit...if I can get near the place...to a new German supermarket (called Lidl) that has just opened a branch near us. Supposed to have the lowest prices of anywhere. They are also in England as well as Germany. Wolf is hoping there will be many of his favourite German foods there. I passed by on opening day and traffic was lined up all over the highway, so I'll think carefully about the best time to go before trying to get in there.

So far, at 7 PM at least, this has been the snowstorm that wasn't. We'll see how it goes. I cancelled all kinds of plans for this weekend in Philly, both work and social, so I'll feel kind of guilty if the snowstorm turns out to be a kitten. Next weekend I have to work all weekend at a student retreat so this is my last chance for some quality cocooning time at home. I'd like to cook SOMETHING but I dunno what it is going to be. I've got the ingredients for deconstructed cabbage rolls with peirogi and fake kielbasa, some roasted vegetables (parsnips didn't look too bad at the market) and lots of apples. I'd like to make jam or apple butter but that would be pushing my luck to get it together to do that. Tonight it is chili and a movie, TGIF. It was a LONG week! I'm sure glad I'm home and not fighting traffic on the Schuylkill "Expressway" trying to beat the storm.

I had zero problems with my wisdom teeth extraction, and I went in expecting to end up on death's door. I woke up from the anesthesia and asked the doctor if he was sure he took out all four. I took maybe two pain pills and that was it. I saved the pills forever thinking someday I might need them but I've been lucky so far in that department. I kept thinking, "surely there must be some complication looming" but for once in my life I was purely lucky!

Thanks everyone, and Ashley thanks you for the good wishes. It took longer to wait for her presciptions at the drug store than it did to take those teeth out, I swear. 25 minutes and they were done, and it took 40 minutes to get the presciption filled.

She wanted a chocolate malt, so I made one. Then she wanted chicken rice soup, so she had that. Some mashed potatoes and a strawberry yogurt and she's on the couch with a blanket and "The Proposal".

The doc says the lower left was pretty difficult and it's going to hurt like crazy. He gave her Vicodan for pain, said she'd need it to sleep tonight. Her face is pretty swollen, so she has ice packs, but she says she's not feeling too awful.

I have a feeling tomorrow will be spent waiting on her, she's gonna make the most of this!

Glad Ashley did pretty good. Yes, a few pain meds and a couple of days of mom doting on her will bring everything up to a good situation for sure. I only had my upper wisdom teeth out and I remember the oral surgeon actually having his foot on my face to extract them. Seriously. I never had the bottom ones out and I should have. They came in and made some of my bottom teeth crooked from the pressure. Sigh. Oh well, nothing to be done now. Funny thing is is I have felt my top wisdom teeth start coming in again....that is weird......how can they grow back? I suppose I need extra 'wisdom' eh?

Hoping Ashley isn't in too much pain and gets back to the real world asap.

I have little man at home with me today so didn't get to do anything other than Grocery shopping. He kept complaining and I ended up forgetting half of the items on the list.

We ate mostly sardines today. Made little man an egg white sardine omelet with salsa (believe me, it was good) for lunch. Sardines again for dinner. Hubby was not too impressed but he ate it anyway! Let the two boys try the kimchi but it was too spicy for them. Seems like I will have to be creative or I will have to eat the whole jar all by myself! LOL

Oh, Ashley I do remember what it felt like on day one, but after that, easy. Just no straws or she can get the dry socket and that hurts worse that anything. I know! Tell her to snuggle with Cooper and DCFH and she will be good. Critters have healing properties. And so do Moms....

No big plans here, not even teh SB. I could care less. But it is Mardi Gras time, so I am making some gumbo on Sunday, since I finaly found a good andouille sausage here in the Midwest.

DH left on a road trip with his college team (23 girls). He begged me to go so I guess I don't have anything to worry about. He told his players that Sunday they had better be on the bus promptly and there would be no stopping because he wanted to be home in time for the SB.

Anyway, I've made a bagel with cream cheese and hot pepper jelly for dinner.

Well the snow is falling in my neck of the woods. It looks so pretty!!
Drew has some of his boys over so I made some grillers and tater tots...maybe if I feed them, they will stick around and shovel for me LOL!!
They are playing Rock Band and I SO want to jump in a sing along with "eye of the tiger" LOL!!

I work early on Sunday and then I have 2 days off so I plan to paint the living room...its a soft denim blue color accent wall with a khaki color on the remaining walls.
The crown molding will go up when Frank has a day off.

Ashley, Amy had all hers out on her spring break...she did fine and even made it to her accelerated class the day after!!

So theres a football game this weekend?? I've got so much saved on demand that I want to watch so maybe I'll check out the score frome time to time.

Earlier I was clinking with a margarita. We are in Oklahoma City and had dinner at a mexican restaurant. We have an early flight tomorro morning to Orlando and then on to Cape Canaveral and leave on a cruise Sunday.

I just hope the weather isn't too bad while we are gone. There is supposed to be rain, freezing rain and snow this weekend and next week also. It is just hard and a full time job to keep the livestock fed, ice broke in water tanks and ice off the electric fences. But our son will take care of it and we have good employees.

Annie, I hope Ashley does well. My son had all four wisdom teeth out during his second or third year of college. I remember him being embarrassed that I was taking him and told me when we were walking out of the Dr. office that he could drive home. He was asleep before we were out of the parking lot and slept the entire two hour ride home, the meds definately took over. He didn't have any problems and hopefully she won't either.
