Thanks for all the wonderful Happy Birthday messages. You have all made my day. I can see some of you know how much I love flowers... Kathleen, I know you didn't realize it but that song sung by Pink is one of my favorites. It really gets me in the mood... not saying for what. Sol, Nancy of the North was so excited to see that menu. She was having "Chunk of Skunk" for dinner tonight! Can definately relate to "smear of deer", since one of our cars is waiting on parts right now. Pam....think Northern Michigan instead of New Mexico......hehe. Betcha didn't think I'd catch that. Well, I've had a great Birthday! Didn't end up going out tonight, Kim really did want to make dinner for me. I picked a simple menu of some of my favorites. I'll post dinner on the WFD thread. We have been planning on a little shopping as Annie suggested and along with that a get out of town... but the weather might not cooperate. Guess we have to wait and see. Nancy

Hi everyone! Thank you for the Birthday Greetings. I think this is the coldest birthday I have ever had.....and I've had a few! It's now -2F out and it's supposed to go down to about -15F tonight. I sure wish spring would hurry. Because of the cold, we will be celebrating my birthday when it warms up a little. This year I decided that a night out at the casino sounded like fun. However, the casino sets up high and catches the wind off Lake Michigan, add that to a fairly long walk from the parking lot. So we will go when it's warmer! FOAS, I'll have you know that I do stop by here, quite often. I'm not on Pinterest all the time...... just most of it! Thanks again! Nancy

Thank you all very very much for the wonderful birthday wishes! We actually celebrated yesterday, at Cascade Lake in Carroll County MD. My sister & her BF, SIL, brother, mother, DH and our 4 kids had a wonderful picnic with lots of gourmet goodies and delicious Popeye's chicken for lunch. DM made her classic Poor Man Pound Cake for my birthday cake. The kids enjoyed swimming in the lake and we rented out some paddleboats and got a little fishing in. Thankfully it was a beatiful day for it. Today I went to Lotte and picked up the ingredients and equipment need to make my very first Kim Bop sushi. It was my first time making it, and it turned out pretty tasty. I tested it on my Korean neighbor/friend and she said it was better than lots of Koreans make. LOL, I'm sure she's just being kind. But two of my kiddies love it, and it's nutritious, so I plan to make it lots. Tomorrow is the kids first day of school, so we're going to relax tonight and get ready, plus watch the closing ceremonies of the Olympics. DH was laid off about a month ago, but hopefully he'll get a new job this week. He has several offers on the table and pending. I'll post pics later of my Kim Bop for anyone who's interested. Nancy

I am here at home. We really aren't doing anything special (my choice). After the really bad birthday cake that Kim ordered for me last year, I've opted to make what I want.

Since Charlie Sheen didn't invite me to a party, I am going to watch the Oscar's tonight. I love the people watching. I may even catch a red carpet live stream where anything can happen...

Thanks again for all the birthday wishes. I had a really nice day.

My birthday dinner was a joint effort, Kim made great salads (I made the dressing), then we had lobster, scallops and shrimp in a wine sauce over angel hair pasta.

Instead of a cake, I made cream filled chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing and even put white loops on top.

I am thankful for all the good in my life.

Sorry I missed your birthday, but it sounds like you had a great dinner - I'll keep that in mind for my birthday next year!

Those cupcakes sound like the ones they made on ATK that were supposed to look like something from Hostess. I think I saved that recipe on DVD, but I'm not sure. I hope you put a candle in it!
