Happy Birthday, Nancy! I'm glad I didn't miss it, Elery and I are here on South Padre Island, I'm just soaking up some sun for you. Yeah, that's it. Of course Kim has plans, LOL, I'm sure of it. Have a wonderful time on vacation. Elery says we need to come andsee you two soon, he enjoyed meeting you both and says that with he and Kim having been in so many of the same places, it's almost like she's an old college buddy. My real birthday is March 6th. I have tried numerous times to change the date to no avail. It comes up as March 6th on my member page, just not on the birthday listing. Don't know what else to do. Thank you all very very much for the wonderful birthday wishes! We actually celebrated yesterday, at Cascade Lake in Carroll County MD. My sister & her BF, SIL, brother, mother, DH and our 4 kids had a wonderful picnic with lots of gourmet goodies and delicious Popeye's chicken for lunch. DM made her classic Poor Man Pound Cake for my birthday cake. The kids enjoyed swimming in the lake and we rented out some paddleboats and got a little fishing in. Thankfully it was a beatiful day for it. Today I went to Lotte and picked up the ingredients and equipment need to make my very first Kim Bop sushi. It was my first time making it, and it turned out pretty tasty. I tested it on my Korean neighbor/friend and she said it was better than lots of Koreans make. LOL, I'm sure she's just being kind. But two of my kiddies love it, and it's nutritious, so I plan to make it lots. Tomorrow is the kids first day of school, so we're going to relax tonight and get ready, plus watch the closing ceremonies of the Olympics. DH was laid off about a month ago, but hopefully he'll get a new job this week. He has several offers on the table and pending. I'll post pics later of my Kim Bop for anyone who's interested. Nancy

Hi! I appreciate all the good wishes. My birthday dinner will not be until Saturday, at least that's the plan as of right now. Kim has an Uncle in Ohio that has cancer and is just barely hanging on, we may have to make a quick trip. It's hard to make plans.

I baked today for the farmers market tomorrow, in fact I still have a couple things to finish. I'm having fun though, I love being in the kitchen.

Kim's been asking me what I want for a present and I just don't have ideas for her. Funny thing is, I ordered something for her B-Day, which was Jan 11 and it just came today. I ordered it in early Dec. So she can open her late gift tonight and I'll be opening something at a later date for me. I want 'summer' things!

Happy Birthday Nancy! I'm also sorry to read about Kim's uncle and am glad you two have some flexibility and can go if you need to.

That is a huge delay in getting what you ordered for Kim..I hope they gave you updates during the two and a half month wait.

I'll be looking forward to hearing about your birthday dinner and to hearing more about the winter farmer's market. What did you bake today?

Oh, dear, Nancy, I'm sorry to hear about Kim's uncle. The waiting is hardest, I think, we did that with Elery's Dad in December. (sigh)

I was not happy when Elery's birthday present was two days late, I'd be livid if it was 2 and a half MONTHS!

I'll also look forward to hearing how the winter farmer's market is going.

Give Kim a hug from Elery and I.
