rebounders

I've been reading about rebounders,I have one but it was bought from London Drugs, only paid 65.00 for it and it doesnt seem to have enough bounce. The Needak ones and theres another brand,Reboundair that are supposed to be better and have one that says its soft bounce. They are a fair bit of money but I wonder if they are worth it. Does anyone on this forum know anything about them? They are supposed to be great for exercising. Thanks

I bought a reboundair, the half fold one for 225. Previously I had the walmart one for $30.00. I started doing rebouning because I am getting varicose veins and jogging seemed to make it worse and my legs would throb. I have no such problems with the rebounder. I also bought the dvd that came with it. The woman in it is rather annyoying. My suggestion is to do the DVD a few times (its about 30 minutes) and then were an Ipod and turn the sound down.

I was firmer than the Walmart one and I would recommend it if you plan on using it often.
The other benefit is that my kids like to jump on it when they play WII.

Welcome. Your plant looks like it may be Echeveria affinis 'Black Prince'. Because it hasn't had sufficient light, the leaves have remained green rather than the usual dark color. Ease it into as much sunlight as you can and the color should change. Water when the top inch drys. Yes, dig a small hole and carefully insert the rooted end into the soil. It should sprout a new plant in a few weeks. As for the small sprouts, just leave them alone until they get big and you will be able to cut the stem and root the head.

Ok, first of all, don't worry about the tree and don't fuss it. Always remember, plants want to live, and will try their hardest to do so. It would have been best to pop it into a better mix, waiting a few days until you could get a good mix wouldn't have hurt. As it stands now, the paper towel has to be taken out. It is going to stop water drainage and retain moisture. Citrus are notorious for dropping leaves after a repot. Leave it alone for a few weeks, let the roots settle. Give it good light, good humidity, and only water when the mix is on the dry side. If you fuss over it too much now, you run the risk of killing it. I think it would be good for you to try growing some citrus from seed. You seem like I was when I first started, full of energy and enthusiasm. Citrus can take time to flower and fruit from seed (search other posts for indications) but it is immensely satisfying!! :)

fishhead, I'm sw of ft pierce about 15 miles and my mango's that the blooms did not get frozen are on the underside and inside of the tree. Those mangos are more like marbles not golf balls. Lots of new blooms, hope they set fruit. You must be close to the water so did not get as cold as long as I did. bernie

My good friends just joined a CSA. I went to visit them and as a thank you gift wanted to get them a cookbook/coffee table book on cooking with farm fresh produce. I was AMAZED at the number of books available out there. This is a HOT topic, and for many good reasons that we've discussed here. Everyone had a book out on it. And I agree, canning is going to make a comeback. All these food scares will only increase as our world grows more hectic. There is an alternative. We once had vibrant agriculture all over this country, not too long ago. And as greenhouser said, kids did not get bored without TV or computer or their cell phone, lol! I think that's why canning went out of fashion for a while. Folks in my mom's generation had childhood nightmares about it . . . please, please, please, no more peas to shell, corn to shuck, beans to snap, cherries to pit, etc.! :)

I own the Urban rebounder, from HSN. Had it over a year...just started using it to build myself up to doing the Insanity workout. This bounder is sturdy, even though I am a beginner I don't use the stabilizer bar and I feel secure on it. I can only bounce for a minute right now.....my thighs get tired and one knee starts to hurt...so I complete the whole workout by stepping in place on the bounder. I am over 50, and the knee pain worried me at first...made me think I should not bound. But I found the next day my knee did not hurt as much going up stairs....so I am hoping that my knee pain lessens as my thighs get stronger.
