Food Processor vs Blender

The use of a food processor has come up a few times on this forum lately. I have a mini Cuisinart, it may be called a chopper. I use it often to make bread crumbs, grate carrots and chop nuts. Will try relish as some one suggested on an earlier post.

Here is my situation. A few weeks ago I purchased a Kitchen Aid blender. It seemed to work well for the smoothies we made for two weeks. Now the motor is really dragging when it is started up. So it is going back.

As I see folks talking about making Ann T's scones, pie crust, bread dough in FP, it makes me think that I should be looking in a FP instead of a blender. Of course I realize the cost will be more. Do you think that a FP would be used more than a blender. We dont need crushed ice or anything like that for drinks. The only thing I have used the blender for is the yogurt smoothies.

Also what kind of FP do you have? What other things do you use a FP for.

Seems like there was a post similar about a month ago.

Thanks for you input!
