I've thought about it but since I started carrying organizer purses with built in slots for credit cards I stopped worrying about it. Then I checked my cards and none of them have one - only my passbook card. When my credit cards expire and they send me a new one I'll have to check them but according to the link below you might be able to request one without the chip - or disable it.

I must be behind the times. I had no idea there were RFID chips being placed in credit cards and passports! Conceivably to make our lives easier? Is it really that much more "difficult" to swipe than wave? That's crazy!

I don't currently have any cards that have a chip BUT, I am a creature of habit and I don't tend to replace wallet until they're worn out. My current wallet is now falling apart so it's time to buy a new one. To me, it just makes sense to take the chip into consideration and buy a wallet that can cope with it in the future.

Since I didn't get any answers, I went ahead and ordered one of the ones I'd been considering.

Although I do see now that the same thing can supposedly be accomplished in a regular wallet by carrying a thin piece of aluminum...

Hey flyleft, there are even diy videos on utube for making RFID wallts! There are also individual card sleeves for sale...or one could just wrap their cars in aluminum foil.

There are many ways to cope with the issue, I'm just "lazy". I want to get a new wallet that'll take care of it in case I have a need for that in the future so I don't need to think/worry about it again.

The pups are doing well. Whitney, my 14 1/2 year old Dobe is chugging along.

We've had a LOT of rain lately and it really points up the differences between Dobes and Border Collies....or at least between Mason and Jovi.

I just made a bag, which I very nearly lined with aluminum foil because of this thread. I decided the sound of the foil would drive me nuts. Hopefully nobody's got an RFID card reader nearby. We monitor our accounts online, so there's not much chance of them being able to really ding the accounts before we notice.

My Kena Kai wallet arrived this morning. Just wanted to say that I really like it. I think it's very well made and the design is so efficient that it actually holds more cards in less space than my last wallet did. Yes, I really like it a lot!

Ditto. I find it kinda creepy. Why not just put a chip inside us with all our pertinent info. (Maybe weird where I went with that, but it's what my brain does sometimes.)
