Contact lenses...can they give me 'perfect' vision???
Comments (28)Contact lenses are much abused eye products and can actually cause damage if not picked wisely. Here are a few reasons why contact lenses should be picked wisely after a prescription and that too after a visit to a qualified eye specialist. To begin with, a contact lens need not be 'fits-all' type. One must get it prescribed. Since a prescription is an authorized statement that clearly mentions what is ok, you can shop with confidence and it feels good that you are doing the right thing. Since buying a pair of contact lens can happen only through a prescription, any website selling 'branded' contact lens are likely to be selling lens that may not be branded and that isn't good news for your eye. If you have been wearing both glasses and contact lens, you are now aware that the prescriptions are a little different from each other. While most of us know what we need a prescription to buy glasses for eye sight problems, the same prescription cannot be used for contact lenses. This means, you need to get a separate prescription for contact lens. Even if you wish to wear contact lens for changing your eye color, you will need a prescription from an Opthalmogist. If you prefer to wear a specific type of contact lens, you can talk to your doctor so that she or he can recommend and also mention that brand in the prescription so that there are no hassles tomorrow. The doctor can also clear any doubt and specify the positives and negatives about any special type of Contact Lens. A prescription will have the doctor's contact details and this way, the dealer can call and check should there be any kind of confusion or if any clarification needs to be sought. Comments (56)Oh what a cutie! I agree that you have a good reason to not have a lot of time. I've been reminding of that time in my life the last two years that I've been babysitting our grandson. Who cares about decorating when you have a precious little one to love. And I can understand more about why hubby doesn't like changing things or doing more than "has" to be done. He's more worried about being a good daddy and supporting his family than having a "pretty" updated home. Our home was rather sparse with mostly hand me down or used furniture when our first born was a baby. Heck it wasn't much difference by the time our second baby was born. Not saying it wasn't warm and welcoming. It was, but not everything was perfect. I've learned with age, that it's not so important. Perfection, that is. I went through a period where things had to be just so. Maybe it's more living in a unfinished home with a hubby that works a full time job year round and umpires most of the rest evenings and weekends to keep in shape and it pays nice too. We'll be in good shape for retirement and that's a good thing. I'm glad you like the corner door shelf. It's really easy to do. The hardest part was cutting the door in half. It's heavy so it took three of us to do. But if you used two doors you wouldn't have to worry about that. I bought the door through Craigslist since I was going to distress it, it didn't have to be perfect to start with. Habitat Restores are a good source for used doors too. As for the lighting in the entry I was wondering if you'd be able to use a decorative type track lighting in there. They have some really nice looking ones that the "track" curves and all you need is the one box for the fixture....See MoreBuying a foreclosure flip
Comments (12)We have seen so many flips while house hunting in Florida. I agree with cmarlin20, there is a risk but you start to learn what to look for. We have seen some which were completely remodeled with new appliances, etc. They look good on the outside, but digging deeper you notice where corners were cut. We've seen bathrooms where new tile was installed but the window sills were rotted. Toilets which moved (I think inspection would find this.) We've seen loose tiles (had some fall off the wall). We've seen old water heaters and AC units which were rusted out. I don't know what area you are looking in, but you can learn a bit about the people (investors), who buy these houses. Florida has a lot of info on the County website. Some of these 'flippers' do this for a living. They own their own construction company and crew. They generally do a nice job and seem honest. We got to know some and learned to watch houses which were abandoned and suddenly had construction crews working there. You can walk up and start talking to the workers. We also found bank owned homes where the bank hires a construction company to clean up and fix any problems. I felt safer with those houses. Some flippers are individuals who hire unlicensed workers and do cheap jobs. Many do not pull permits and do things where they cannot get permits. Stay away from them. Look for the trucks, sinks/toilets on the lawn! Walk up to the men and ask questions. Never found any who didn't let us in to see what was going on. Many are proud of what they are doing and show details you wouldn't noice, like repiping, new doors, windows. Most will leave the old AC and heaters so that would be the only expense. We considered a few but they sold fast. Some we were leary about because most don't replace roofs or major problems. Jane...See MoreHow would you decorate around this TV? Or would you move?
Comments (31)Call your cable company and ask if they have a smaller more attractive box if you have had it for more than a year. Can you post a picture of what you see looking from the sofa directly forward? Could you just put the TV right there in that area, it looks wide and then put a screen behind it. I have added a link. You could put pictures across the top row and maybe just solid color paper or something in the others. Good luck and please post when you decide what functions for you.
