Buffalo Chicken Pizza anybody?

I am having the kids over tomorrow for pizza and football..I am thinking outside the box and want to do something different and I was thinking of buffalo chicken pizza..looked up some recipes..

But the experts on this forum would have the best answers.

So if you have made it before would you care to share?

I like Buffalo wings and I like pizza. Back where I'm from, a lot of pizza joints offer special deals with some of each. I don't think I would like them combined in one dish however. I don't want chicken bones in my pizza and I don't want bread on my wings. Just my opinion.

Chicken bones in pizza...HAHAHA! You wouldn't put a wing on a pizza HA. When my husband and I go to Cici's we always get their buffalo chicken pizza. They just put diced up chicken breast meat on it with the buffalo type sauce rather than the tomatoey sauce and some pizza cheese like mozzarella cheese. We LOVE it! YUM!

Korney I am out on Interstate 90 on my way to Buffalo. I am about half way from Boston. I could no wait to leave. I must get there before that pizza gets cold. Radio me your addy. I will pug it into a GPS. I will stop in the Champaign district of NY State and get some bubbly. I have a state trooper chasing me but If I stop for him the pizza might get cold. Was that pizza baked on the grill or in the oven. Rats I just noticed this pizza was made last year. Now I have to shake the state trooper and get back to Boston.

Ann, try saving it to your Clippings. Look to the right of your last post (just above this). You will see the word Clippings in green letters. Under that it will say Clip This Post. I was introduced to "Hawaiian" pizza in Vancouver in 1976 - I hated it then and still do. I do not like anything sweet on pizza, and pineapple is horrible because not only is it sweet, it is also soggy. I'm okay with the Canadian bacon, but hold the pineapple. I had always assumed that Hawaiian pizza was a [bad] Canadian invention. OTOH, I love Bloody Caesars, and I had those first in Vancouver. I make a lot of pizza style sandwiches using ciabatta bread or something similar, and I generally just make it Margherita style. I also make pizza style quesadillas using a flour tortilla and pizza toppings. I make these when I am eating alone - otherwise I make the pizza dough for 2 to 3 pizzas at a time. Everything I put on pizzas (plus more) has already been listed here, and I'm not terribly adventurous with pizzas. I have found that certain ingredients, such as mushrooms and bell pepper, need to be sautéed before adding, as they can make the pizza soggy. I prefer to grill the pizzas outside, and I have a pizza stone for our Big Green Egg, but I won't do that unless I am having a party, as a rule.

Tomato guts? Intestines? Really? And all this time I've just been calling it "glop" or "goo". I'm definitely out of step. (grin) I do remove it (mostly) when making salsa because I don't want the salsa to be too thin, so I could see doing that for sauce also. I usually make sauce in large amounts and so put all my tomatoes through the Squeezo, which takes out the seeds and peels for me. Sol is right, you can make a really good roasted tomato sauce by just putting everything on a sheet tray and roasting it until the tomatoes break down and any additions (like garlic) are soft enough to puree. I remove the skins as I dislike their texture, but I know some people just puree them with the skins on and don't seem to be bothered by them. jerzeegirl, that's why I always brush the crust with olive oil, so the tomatoes don't make it too "wet", but if they are really juice I'll drain the slices before I use them. And now I'm just waiting for tomato season, right now I have blossoms on the plants, but it's going to be a while before tomatoes.... Annie

For some reason, I read your request as BBQ chicken pizza. I have a good recipe for that, lol. I'll include it anyway! It's from The Pioneer Woman and my family really enjoyed it.

We occasional get the Buffalo Chicken pizza at our local pizzeria. It's delish! When we make it at home we use a regular pizza crust, Texas Pete and melted butter for the sauce (just like you would for Buffalo Wings), semi cooked chicken breast cut up into bite sized pieces and finally some red onion, mozzarella and bleu cheeses to top it off. Into the oven it goes till done. NancyLouise

I failed to mention that the chicken breast meat is fully cooked before it's put on the pizza. I did look for some recipes and found plenty of good ones but I don't really think you'd need to have an actual "recipe" to make it.

I make this all the time, it is my specialty!!! I had it tonight even.

Have your standard pizza dough rolled out, I prefer a thin crust.

I toss cooked chicken (either poached chicken breast, but usually I use leftover cold chicken from roast chicken night) in the sauce, which is half melted butter, and half franks hot sauce whisked together. Spread sauce coated chicken pieces over pizza crust, then drizzle more sauce to *lightly* coat the rest of the dough. Be careful not to over do sauce, what with the butter it can be too greasy, a little goes a long way.

Add layer of shredded mozzarella. Then, sprinkle chopped red onion and chopped celery on top. Into the oven (preferably on a pizza stone).

If I am going to add bleu cheese, I like to sprinkle it on about two minutes before the pizza is done.

I know you are probably skeptical about the celery, but it really adds the perfect touch.
