except for damage they have to honor the warranty, but if there is any shipping issues they will walk away from you as far as warranty you would have to buy any replacement parts that are damaged. Just carefully examine the product before you sign for it as good condition.

I plan on ordering Miele dishwasher, steam oven, single oven and induction cooktop from AJ Madison. They are a registered Miele dealer and I called Miele corporate about warranty. He advised that I inspect all the appliances carefully on delivery and take pictures of anything that doesn't look right. If driver doesn't want to wait for you to do this, write this fact on the delivery sheet he will want you to sign. Miele warranties 2 year after purchase if a Miele authorized installer installs, 1 year if someone else does it. I had gotten a local quote of $800 to install my Miele appliances (dishwasher, stoves, induction)but found out you can purchase a 5 yr warranty directly from Miele. These vary per appliance but for a dishwasher it was $249 and you have up to one year from purchase to decide to buy the warranty. All this information is on the Miele website. Per Miele, most of the appliances are very easy to install and if something were to go wrong it's usually due to installer not reading the one page installation instructions. My take from my discussion with Miele customer service rep was that if anything was to go wrong it would happen withing the first year and the most number of service calls were for dishwashers - not to suggest that it was a lot but you have to understand that this is the nationwide call center for problems and that is all they will hear.

Regarding AJ Madison, I have a Liebherr free standing refrigerator being delivered on Monday as my first item from them. The rest I plan on taking delivery in March since my renovation isn't until April. Will let you know if everything goes smoothly.

I had heard that the Miele price increases were going to take place in February. so you are getting a steam oven?! So are we. We have not been able to find anyone that has one to hear of their experiences--no responses to my queries on this site...so what made you decide to get the steam oven? We bought and paid in July and had delivery in early November - no problems. They also threw in extended warranties on all the products.

Per warranty the first ovens were faulty and needed to be replaced and there was no problem with that either.

To be fair, the company is fairly local to us and we were not shipping accross country but I would still highly recommend them.

Our original brand new fridge and freezer were GE Monogram and they were really really bad. We decided to replace with Miele and ABT were wonderful to work with in the exchange process (with ABSOLUTELY NO help whatsoever from GE)

I am considering Eurostoves (Trevor Lawson) vs ABT for upcoming Miele purchase. Did ABT throw in Miele extended warranty or 3rd party extended warranty? If third party, what company?

When I went to Miele cooking demonstration at the NE regional office, they said Miele increase was due Feb. 1. AJ Madison will allow you to order now and they will not charge your chargecard until it ships, which I plan on doing in March. This will hold the lower price, according to the sales rep I am dealing with. By the way, if you work with a sales rep, you get better pricing (Miele only has latitude of about $50 on each piece but if you are buying any other appliances, sinks, faucets, etc. they will give you a better price than on the website). The rep I am dealing with is Jonathan Gold 800-570-3355 x106 and he has given me some competitive pricing. He has been helpful so far but I haven't taking any deliveries yet so I will reserve my recommendations until I've experienced a completed transaction. My first will be Monday, Jan 4th on the Liebherr refrigerator - will let you know if it goes smoothly.

The steam oven appealed to me from the get go because I have a strong bent towards healthy food preparation. I am trying to vear away from microwaving leftovers as it kills any living enzymes in the food. It took me some time to see this oven as more than an oversized vegetable steamer but I think I will get more use out of it with steaming fish, reheating leftover and preparing other dinners- it can do everything but brown. I am looking at some covered pans that will slide in the oven as one owner said she went through quite bit of aluminum foil in covering her food (so the steam wouldn't make the meal soggy). I will post what I find out.

To get the steam oven, I am going with a single Miele Masterchef (vs. a Double Masterchef). I still am not sure if I will miss the double oven scenario I have now, but the rep said what I cook in two of my ovens (which are 26 inch width and not convection), I could do in on 30 inch Miele. The only time I really need the double ovens are the holidays. Did you trade off a second convection oven for the steam oven? What were your thoughts in this decision.

I think I am also going to choose the Miele induction,as well as the Miele optima dishwasher. I would be interested in what you decided for your other appliances.

Also wanted to support Trevor at Eurostoves. I talked to him for about an hour regarding appliances choices. He couldn't have been more helpful, honest and professional. He didn't try and "sell" me. In fact, since I was buying a floor model Liebherr along with the other appliances from AJMadison, he thought I was given a very competitive price for my appliances. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from Eurostoves - this site touts them and my first impressions of them were excellent.

Thanks for all the information! We also are trying to eat healthier and currently are steaming veggies on the stove. After reading more about the steam oven, I decided it would be great for fish, rice, and pasta--but I have yet to see. We will have a Electrolux double oven, and will have the steam oven in the island, and a Wolf gas range, Miele 36 inch fridge and Miele Optima...I know...lots of different name brands, but it seems to be a combination that fits our needs and price. Ok, my Liebherr refrigerator arrived Monday morning from AJ Madison. This unit needed to be bubbled wrapped because it was taken out of box to use as a display (but never ended up being displayed). When it arrived, I inspected it thoroughly and it had a "dimple" on the bottom door" and a scratch on the top door. I called AJ Madison when the delivery guys were here and she couldn't have been more helpful and professional. Without hesitation, she said she would send two new doors out to me and would extend the warranty to cover all parts and labor for 5 years on the entire unit (Liebherr's warranty is a 3, 5, 10 yr type plan so everything is only covered for 3 yrs). I am very pleased with my interactions so far with them. I plan on ordering another 5 appliances and possibly a sink/faucet from them. On another note, I can't believe how excited I was about a refrigerator!!
